Did EMM at MK this morning. Had a blast! Stopped at every Photopass photographer I could. Rode Mine Train 2x, PP, Pooh, and Tea Cups. Had breakfast at Cosmic Rays then rode Astro Orbiter before heading over to use FP+ for Big Thunder Mountain, had time to take a short break before my Splash FP+, grabbed a Dole Whip at Aloha Isle, did Tiki Room and then FP+ for HM. Back in my room now. Had a shower and am now relaxing until I leave for my 4:00 dinner at Hoop De Do Revue and return to MK.

I've come to the conclusion that DHS is a waste of time. Did EMM this morning. Had breakfast then walked over to the arches. They didn't let us in until 7:45 (I think..not sure of the exact time but it was way past the 7:30 entrance time). Only able to ride SDD once. I think they were having issues because when I was in line for Woody and Jessie there was a stretch where no cars were running then an empty car came by. Rode Swirling Saucers once and did TSMM twice. Had a FP for RnR but it was down. That's when I decided to do whatever character meet n greets and Photopass opportunities I could before lunch. I did get an anytime FP for RnR. I had a ToT FP but canceled it. Had lunch at Sci-Fi and used FP at Star Tours. RnR was finally running so went over to use my anytime FP. Of course the FP line was just as long as the stand by line so I did single rider. Was able to get all the way to the top of the ramp before it stopped. So, even though it was no where near as long as standby or FP it was still a fairly long wait. I tried to "give away" my anytime FP but couldn't find anybody to take it! So, I just tapped in to get rid of it and called it a day. Just not a good day to be at the Studios.

In the space of less than 26 hours this week, I have windows opening up at specific times to book FastPasses, buy NY Comic Con tickets, and buy Michigan football tickets.

Today I learned that tickets are not considered "Shared Plans," which is why it appeared to me that 2 members of my family had no tickets. Today I also learned that half our family accounts are set to share all plans and half set to share just shared plans, which none of us knew. And when I signed in to do a last minute check because my FP+ picking is imminent I nearly had a coronary.
But then I learned what I learned and everything is fine thanks to a pair of helpful Cast Members, and the second one wished me a Magical Day, which is always nice.

Bumping up this joke, but really it's to show my new ticker. As it now says, I won't be going for almost two years.

I was really on the fence about going April 2020. That would make exactly two years since our 2018 trip, which would have been perfect. And, for kids my kids' ages, two years is a long time. And three years is a REALLY long time.

But, though SWGE in Disneyland hasn't exactly resulted in a massive crush of people, who knows what will happen in WDW. Plus, RotR is opening much later than I thought, so there might still be some fallout from a fully-open SWGE in April 2020.

So we're going to a Caribbean resort next spring break (the real Caribbean, not the Disney one). And then we'll probably do a blow-out, Deluxe resort, full week in 2021. (Although, I'm also considering Disneyland. We'll see.)

(There is, like, a 5% chance we'll go in August 2020, or around the same chance we'll go during Thanksgiving. Again, we'll see. But I'm betting on April 2021.)

    Later, y'all!

I am the father of three kids (21, 12 and 9) and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

However, my wife and I are now on Day 6 of 10 of them all being gone.

Holy crap. It's like being on vacation.

    Typical Disney IT:

I check the details of our upcoming reservation and under "Hotel Account Charges," it lists a credit card with expiration of 01/19. I'm surprised because I was pretty sure I updated it. But I hit the Edit button to update it now, and it shows the same card with the correct current expiration date of a few years from now. When I cancel the change form and revert to the summary page, it again shows the expired date.

The real test is when you try to pay with the expired card!

Tomorrow is FP day. Why is it that no matter how many times I've done it, I always get a little nervous for FP day?

Because everything rides on the success of getting everything perfect!

Seriously, if you’ve done it so many times you’ll realize that you really only need a small handful of hard-to-get FPPs, and the rest will fall into place as you go along.

Seriously! I'm not even trying for SDD and we have FOP late enough in the trip that it shouldn't be an issue. Nothing else is that hard to get and I've always had success moving things around if I start with a less than ideal time. Once we get there we will barely even look at our plan and will adapt on the fly. I totally spaced ADR day this time and still got everything I wanted. I have no idea why I am this way.

Disney IT was the winning answer. I was able to make a couple FP before Olaf got me and now the system says it can't make or modify any FP at this time.

Sorry Jen I had issues with FP at my 60 day mark for the trip I took in May. Like you, I was able to make a couple (the ones that mattered!) but after that I couldn't make anymore. As soon as I got to work I logged in and got the rest of my FPs. I was lucky to be able to get the rest of the FPs I wanted without any problems. It probably helped that it was just me. Hope you have better luck later.

This is EXACTLY what happened this morning. I got my FOPs and 7DMTs then it crashed. Once I got to the office I was able to get everything else without issue (there are only 2 of us so that helps). So, it all turned out fine in the end - as it most always does.

Dining in a tourist town in Northern Wisconsin has made me more appreciative of Disney food service. We may pay through the nose at Disney, but at least it's generally edible and there are lots of options. Here we are paying through the nose ($100 for lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids no alcohol) and it is next to impossible to find any kind of fresh produce or entrees that are NOT deep fried. And the "sirloin" steak makes Outback and Texas Roadhouse look gourmet.

Here here. They all seem the same, with different overlays. And the sheeple keep flocking to them. FOMO is the order of the day lately.

Interested in seeing the new Chinese Theatre attraction; at least it’s different.
