Friday January 22nd
Predicted Crowd Level: 2.
Actual Crowd Level: 1.
Weather: High of 70 and low of 57 with .21 inches of rain. Blizzard in the northeast halted most travel from that region.
It doesn’t get any prettier than this, folks. You may remember yesterday’s 15-minute overall average. Still very good given the lowest crowds of the year, but it’s no nine-minute average. It would be really hard to screw this day up.
The good news continues at Epcot, which was the most recommended Park. Not even 2+ hours of downtime at Test Track really pushes wait times higher later in the afternoon. I don’t think we’ll see wait times lower than this at any point this year other than maybe a day later this week.
It’s pretty much the same thing that we’ve seen the last few days at the Studios. Fortunately, 100% uptime at the attractions does help and relatively short waits during the evening Extra Magic Hours also helps pull the overall average down. Even with our “1” overall crowd level you’re still talking about 60+ minute peak waits at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, and Toy Story. Star Tours’ average is on the high side here as well.
This is a really good day at Magic Kingdom, which you’d likely expect from the very low overall crowd level. Reliably short waits during the morning EMH itself help pull down the average wait and the 10pm close adds two hours of short waits in the late evening compared to yesterday. We are not going to see a lot of days this year with an overall average wait under 20 minutes.
Heading into the weekend, things should pick up a bit.
