Predicted 4-Park Crowd Level: 2.
Sum of Predicted 4-Park Average Wait Times: 87 minutes.
Actual 4-Park Crowd Level: 2.
Sum of Actual 4-Park Average Wait Times: 88 minutes.
Weather: High of 73 and low of 5. A sunny, brisk day.
Animal Kingdom was recommended with a 13-minute predicted average versus the 14-minute actual, thanks largely in part to what we’ve been discussing each day – abnormally long waits at Primeval Whirl due partially to the fact that only one side operates for the majority of the day and due partially to the fact that the wait times are likely exaggerated. It looks like DINO has some brief issues around noon with the 50-minute posted waits until it drops to just 20 minutes for the next two hours. But with the low overall crowd level and low estimated wait times, you’d have to try pretty hard to screw your day up here. We’ll get to my rope drop from February 1st where I try my hardest to do just that. Unsuccessfully, of course, I’m just too good.
Strange times at Epcot as an apparent mass power outage sent the majority of attractions down completely beginning around 6:30pm and continuing through just after 7:30pm. Most reopened, but Test Track stayed closed from the initial outage through the end of evening Extra Magic Hours. Still, the expected average wait was 21 minutes and we came out with 22 minutes.
The Studios was the most recommended Park with a 27-minute predicted average, which came in exactly right. The 4ish hours of downtime at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster would be frustrating and it looks like Toy Story Mania had some capacity issues just after noon, but 27 minutes remains one of the lower waits that we’ve seen so far this year.
Magic Kingdom was highly recommended with a predicted average wait of 26 minutes and an actual that came in one minute lower at 25 minutes. This isn’t quite as good as it gets on a day with sunny weather, but it’s pretty close. And as always, that includes 100+ minute waits at Mine Train, 60+ at Peter Pan’s Flight, 60+ at Space Mountain, etc.
Wait times should be even shorter on Wednesday.
