Predicted 4-Park Crowd Level: 6.
Sum of Predicted 4-Park Average Wait Times: 133 minutes.
Actual 4-Park Crowd Level: 5.
Sum of Actual 4-Park Average Wait Times: 113 minutes.
Weather: High of 69 and low of 55. Much cooler than the day before.
We were expecting a big jump in crowd level heading into the weekend, but that only marginally materialized. Animal Kingdom was predicted to be 25 minutes and came in at 22 minutes, which is right around average. Peak waits are hefty but low waits during the first hour and last two hours help bring the average down. The low temperatures in the evening probably also helped send people towards the exit.
Epcot came in four minutes lower than expected – 24 minutes actual versus 28 minutes predicted. These wait times should also prove to be right around average for the year.
The Studios was expected to come in at 47 minutes, but only managed 40 thanks largely to low waits at The Great Movie Ride. The peak attendance estimation was almost spot on, but it can be difficult to estimate exactly what Disney is going to do with variable capacity attractions.
Short waits at virtually every attraction after 8pm helped push down wait times considerably at Magic Kingdom. That was potentially helped by the cold weather. If the Park had closed at 8pm like it had the previous few days, the overall average wait would have been four minutes higher. But as it stands, we were expecting 33 minutes and got 27.
