Waits have been extremely short today at all Disney theme parks. The Parks are still relatively crowded from an overall attendance standpoint, but it seems like Disney Parks are staffed like its December 25th. This is due in part to the fact that we’re coming off the heels of a major press conference at the Magic Kingdom last night and the Disney Dream press extravaganza is powering full steam ahead. Disney wants waits and crowds to seem light so the visiting press report stellar experiences to their dedicated readers back home. While many agents of the press are on the inaugural Disney Dream cruise, many others have stayed behind. We’re also seeing a lot of family members of the press in attendance as well. I haven’t seen a standby wait exceed 30 minutes at any Magic Kingdom attraction all day (other than the occasional 40 minute wait at Peter Pan’s Flight, but there isn’t much they can do from a capacity-increasing standpoint there). Even waits at Toy Story Mania are in the 30-45 minute range this afternoon. We can expect similar crowds over the next few days and the rest of January is looking to continue this trend of low crowds and short standby waits.
