September’s operating schedule was just made available here: http://www.disneytravelagents.com/StaticFiles/DTA-Domestic/pdf/ParkHours/WDW_Operating_Calendar_sept.pdf. It’s very similar to the first release of last year’s September calendar. You’ll notice that the operating hours at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are significantly shorter than during the summer months. Fantasmic is only scheduled on two or three nights each week. In addition, we revert back to the “slow season” Extra Magic Hours schedule for most of September, which means no more evening Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom on Fridays or evening Extra Magic Hours at Epcot on Tuesdays. The last week in September also changes over to the “Food and Wine Festival Extra Magic Hours schedule,” where Epcot’s evening Extra Magic Hours moves to Wednesdays and Animal Kingdom’s morning Extra Magic Hour moves to Fridays. This is the same Extra Magic Hours schedule we can expect for all of October. This helps thin out the already heavy Food and Wine Festival crowds on Friday nights during the Food and Wine Festival because Disney resort guests will be more likely to visit on Tuesday or Wednesday for Extra Magic Hours. This year, the Food and Wine Festival starts on September 30th. We can also get an idea about when Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will be scheduled because the Magic Kingdom closes at 7pm on those nights and neither Wishes nor the Main Street Electrical Parade is scheduled. This year, the first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is tentatively scheduled on Tuesday September 13th. Keep in mind that these dates are subject to change and they actually did change last year. The finalized Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party schedule, pricing, and details will likely be released in toward the end of April or beginning of May.
Night of Joy is on at the Magic Kingdom 9th, 10th and 11th – so I think the first Halloween party will be the 13th.
