Disney finally uploaded the June 2016 operating schedule today at the usual link: http://media.disneywebcontent.com/StaticFiles/ParkHours/WDWTravelAgent_june.pdf. Click “refresh” on your browser to load the newest version. For whatever reason, Disney is typically late in uploading these operating schedule documents in November. I like to think it’s Walt giving me two extra Saturdays of enjoying football in peace, but it’s more likely that whoever is in charge takes the week off to enjoy two extra Saturdays of football in peace. Anyway, the hours are out and as expected, virtually identical to much of May.
There’s still no clarity on Rivers of Light. You’ll notice that Animal Kingdom continues to close at 5pm, which isn’t out of line with the conservative operating schedule that Disney initially releases. Those hours will need to be extended to at least 8:30pm or 9pm to accommodate the new nighttime show. It will be interesting to see what happens with show schedules, crowd movement, and wait times once Rivers of Light comes online.
Otherwise, June is one very busy, very hot, very wet month. It does benefit from long hours and plentiful evening entertainment at the theme parks, so you don’t see the crowd fluctuations that we’ve been “enjoying” this fall with Magic Kingdom open to the general public after 7pm on just three days each week. To get an idea about what the final operating schedule will look like, check out 2015’s final schedule here: https://www.easywdw.com/reports13/june_2015_final.pdf.
I should have a preliminary crowd calendar available late tonight, but the recommendations and daily analysis should be the same or very similar to the first week in May, if you want to scope that out in the meantime. Overall crowds should drop down to a “7” most days with the days leading up to July trending higher.
