Just a reminder that a slew of new discounts are expected today, likely both general discounts for the public and targeted pin codes for individuals as well. You’ll want to refresh DisneyWorld.com throughout the early morning and call Disney reservations at 1-407-934-7639 right at 7am EST and ask if there is a pin code attached to your name. There very well may be a code attached, even if you did not receive an email, postcard, telegram, carrier pigeon, or whatever other methods Disney may or may not use to disseminate codes. Also check MouseMisers and MouseSavers for updates if and when they are available.
7am Update: Looks like the new “deals” available to the general public are nothing special. There are pin codes that are going out for dates between the end of April and middle of August that include “Free Dining.” These pin codes are unique and cannot be shared. The only way to know if you have one of these pins is to wait and check your mail/email or call in. If the first Disney employee you talk to isn’t helpful, simply hang up and try again. In the past, Disney has made offers like this through unique pin codes and then opened the offer up to the public at a later date. Time will tell whether everyone will be able to book Free Dining or only a select number of people.
It appears as though the Free Dining pin codes are available for dates between April 23rd and August 13th, with the ability to extend the vacation past August 13th as long as your check-in date is August 13th or earlier. At least for some of these pins, there are no blackout dates. This means you could book Free Dining throughout all of May, June, and July, including July 4th weekend. Unlike past public discounts, guests staying at Value and Moderate Resorts will receive the Quick Service Dining Plan at no additional cost and guests staying at a Deluxe resort will receive the Regular Dining Plan at no additional cost. In the past, guests staying at Moderate resorts received the Regular Dining Plan at no additional charge.
Just to reiterate, it is very likely that similar discounts will be made available to the public in the future. The current batch of public discounts are expiring March 27th. Usually, Disney waits for previous promotions to end before releasing a new set. However, that would not give people much time to book a vacation at the end of April. We’ll see what they do. There are currently no “rumblings” that a Free Dining public discount is imminent, but it is expected in the future – likely no later than March 28th.
