Edit: Going to hold off on the FASTPASS stuff until tomorrow after I check out how it works in person.
Dumbo’s reopening date is back to March 31st. You may remember back in January that I had mentioned the internal date was the end of March, despite the “official” March 12th date. Then the internal date was switched to the 12th. Then it was switched back to the 31st. Dumbo along with the re-themed Barnstormer and Fantasyland Train Station should be open by the 31st with soft openings beginning as early as March 18th.
From the joy that is DISboards.com:
You realize that even the Big Bad Wolf has feelings, right? I do sincerely hope Magical Kingdoms cleans up their site so that you can add some tickers to your signature though.
The “Free Dining” promotion is back for August 25-September 29, 2012. Details here.
“FASTPASS enforcement” begins tomorrow, March 7th. You may return up to five minutes before and fifteen minutes after the return time printed on the FASTPASS, making the effective window 80 minutes in most cases. I’ll have some preliminary ideas about “how to make it work” later today. I’m expecting a blurb on each of the Times Guides, which is why the current Times Guides only run through today. I’ll be eavesdropping heavily at Soarin’ throughout the day tomorrow and will report the most hilarious cast member interactions.
Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival begins tomorrow. A mobile web “app” is available at http://m.epcotinbloom.com/. This includes a list of the topiary locations, topiary ingredients (what they’re made of), events, and an audio tour.
Hall of Presidents is closing at 3pm on March 8th, most likely due to a private event of some sort. Recommended nap locations include Carousel of Progress and Tomorrowland Transit Authority.
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular will not be performing on March 10th or 11th. The Studios is hosting a major cheerleading competition.
The Habit Heroes fallout continues. This article is pretty funny:
So, last Friday, my husband and I hit Futureword at Epcot on the hunt for the exhibit. Our first observation was that it was not at all easy to find. We finally found it tucked on the side of Innovations West.
It’s funny because:
- Last Friday Habit Heroes was closed.
- “Futureword” doesn’t exist.
- She calls it “Innovations West.”
- It’s not “Innovations,” it’s Innoventions. As in a mixture of the word “innovations” and “inventions.” Get it?
- It’s in Innoventions East rather than West, so it would indeed be difficult to find in the wrong building.
That sentence is of course preceded by “I’ve learned…to take a more journalistic approach — fact check as much as possible and experience first-hand whatever it is, when reasonable, which in this case happened to be days after the uproar began.” The bolding is mine. I’m sure it’s a great article though.
