Just a reminder that the 2011 Candlelight Processional Dining Packages are going on sale tomorrow morning, July 26th. I would be prepared to call in at 7am EST if you have a very specific reservation that you would like to make. For example, if you “have” to eat at Coral Reef on December 17th, you may very well want to be up tomorrow to make that call. If you’re more lenient with the restaurant and date, a call tomorrow likely won’t be necessary. However, like all other things with limited availability, making arrangements sooner is always better than later. If your dates are between December 20th and December 30th then you’ll also want to make that call much sooner than later.
Historically, the restaurants that run out of availability soonest are Coral Reef, Garden Grill, and Le Cellier. Now that Le Cellier is only offering lunch Packages at a premium cost, it may be easier to book. The phone number is 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463). There are no toll free options, so be ready with your phone card or cell phone if applicable. Disney will take your credit card number over the phone to guarantee the reservation and you will be charged if you do not show up or cancel. However, your credit card won’t be charged until you arrive at the restaurant. Dining reservations may also be available online, though I am not seeing the option at the moment. They may be busy loading the Packages for tomorrow. You may want to be at your computer by 6am to check to see if reservations open up online. If they don’t, be prepared to call at 7am. Much more information, including pricing and whether or not I think the Dining Package is worth the cost, is available here: https://www.easywdw.com/worth-2/is-the-candlelight-processional-and-dining-package-worth-it/.
In short, the Dining Package offers the following for a fixed price or two table service credits on the Disney Dining Plan:
- Non-alcoholic Beverage
- Guaranteed seats at the Candlelight Processional – you will be let in before the general public
- Private standing-room only IllumiNations viewing area at the base of World Showcase.
Note that these restaurants normally cost one dining credit on the Disney Dining Plan. However, you do get the appetizer, which normally wouldn’t be included, as well as the guaranteed seating and IllumiNations viewing location.
Also with most things Disney, you’ll see that the Candlelight Processional narrator list says that narrators are “subject to change.” This is one instance where this is actually true. In other words, try not to be devastated if the narrator you really want to see is replaced. Last year, Disney was making changes right through December as more and more “celebrities” got other gigs or otherwise couldn’t make the event. A few dates did not have a narrator attached until a couple of days before the performance.
