Another week of Spring Break crowds rolling in from around the country. We have our usual Monday recommendations and an “8” as the overall crowd level. Let’s see what we’re looking at today.
All wait times are taken from what’s posted outside the attraction between 1:00pm and 1:15pm.
Animal Kingdom (Not Recommended):
Dinosaur: 20 minutes
Expedition Everest: 45 minutes
It’s Tough to be a Bug: 10 minutes
Kali River Rapids: 50 minutes
Kilimanjaro Safaris: 50 minutes
Animal Kingdom is busier than it will be tomorrow due to the morning Extra Magic Hour that will attract a decent number of Disney resort guests. Look for Wednesday to be even more crowded. Not an extremely busy day though as most Monday’s aren’t. We should see waits in the 70 minute vicinity on Wednesday at the headlining attractions.
Epcot (Most Recommended Park):
Living with the Land: 10 minutes
Maelstrom: 10 minutes
Mission Space Green Team: 15 minutes
Mission Space Orange Team: 20 minutes
Soarin’: 65 minutes
Spaceship Earth:5 minutes
Test Track: 60 minutes
As usual, Test Track and Soarin’ are in the 60+ minute range in the afternoon, but this remains one of the two best days to visit Epcot this week. Expect waits at Soarin’ and Test Track to hit the triple digits tomorrow when it isn’t recommended.
Hollywood Studios (Not Recommended)
Backlot Tour: 20 minutes
Great Movie Ride: 15 minutes
Rock N Roller Coaster: 60 minutes
Tower of Terror: 50 minutes
Toy Story Mania: 80 minutes
Hollywood Studios come not recommended today, which is the usual recommendation when it’s hosting evening Extra Magic Hours. The morning is usually a viable time to tour because Disney resort guests tend to begin arriving en masse around 11am, but there are certainly better days coming up in the near future. You also have to deal with crowds staying similarly heavy throughout the day due to the number of Disney resort guests that are planning to stay for at least part of evening Extra Magic Hours. On days that Hollywood Studios doesn’t offer Fantasmic or evening Extra Magic Hours, crowds thin after 4pm and become much lower after 6pm. We won’t be able to enjoy lower waits after 6pm today.
Magic Kingdom (Not Recommended):
Big Thunder Mountain: 65 minutes
Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin: 50 minutes
Haunted Mansion: 30 minutes
It’s A Small World: 35 minutes
Peter Pan’s Flight: 60 minutes
Pirates of the Caribbean: 40 minutes
Space Mountain: 70 minutes
Splash Mountain: 80 minutes
Town Square Mickey Meet and Greet: 25 minutes
Town Square Princess Meet and Greet: 30 minutes
Winnie the Pooh: 50 minutes
It’s time to get concerned whenever you see waits at Pirates of the Caribbean and it’s a small world over 30 minutes. There’s just too many people headed straight to the Magic Kingdom on Monday when we have week-long spring breaks. Tomorrow and Wednesday will see lower waits and lower overall crowds.
