Meet Ariel at Ariel’s Grotto

November 20, 2015 ~ 1 minute readLeave a Comment

Opened: October 2012.

Location:

Ariel meets in her Grotto in New Fantasyland to the right of her ride, Journey of the Little Mermaid. This is also behind Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and to the left of Storybook Circus.

Extra Magic Hours: Morning, Evening.

Type: Meet and Greet.

Similar To: Princess Fairytale Hall with just Ariel instead of two princesses.

Scary Factor: Almost none. Ariel is very sweet.

What to Expect:

Ariel’s queue is relatively nondescript with some fun lighting and rockwork details. Most guests will spend the majority of their wait here.

Then it’s into the next room where Mermaid Ariel sits on a bench in front of her clam. Guests will spend a couple of minutes waiting for the group or two in front of them to finish up before it’s time for a minute with everyone’s favorite underwater princess.

FastPass+: Yes, moderate priority. Being a meet and greet with a low capacity, availability isn’t great, but neither is demand. Using FastPass+ here in the afternoon will save 25 to 40 boring minutes in line, which is pretty good.

What You Miss Using FastPass+: Just the boring queue.

Total Average Experience Time with FastPass+: 15 minutes.

4th FastPass+ Availability:

Expect to Wait:

When to Go: Before 10:30am, as late in the evening as possible, or with FastPass+.

Rating: 7/10.

Commentary: This isn’t the most inspired meet and greet, but it’s the only usual spot to meet Ariel without a dining reservation and the pictures usually end up being very good.
