The Brewer’s Collection returns to the left of the Germany Marketplace and the Germany Pavilion.
Unfortunately, our days of seeing eight, mostly obscure, German draft beers are well behind us and we’re left with the exact same three selections as last year.
The Zwickel Pilsner, seen in the top left as we reminisce about the days when there were two flights of four beers each, is my personal favorite of the bunch with a nice earthy hop presence backed up by bready malts. Very good.
The Hacker-Pschorr is very good too with your typical flavor profile for this style – bread-y, malt-y, clove-y, banana-y with just a little bit of spice on the back end.
Made with 50% unfiltered German Hefeweizen and 50% pomegranate juice, the Schofferhofer Pomegranate is refreshing for as long as the 4- or 6-ounce cup lasts, but at 2.5% ABV, isn’t going to take you very far. It’s It’s sweet, crisp, and easy to drink.
Brewer’s Collection is worth a stop to try at least two of the beers that aren’t readily available in most places.
Germany is up next with the review here.
