The United States Pavilion is housed mostly inside of a single Colonial-style mansion that was built using 110,000 hand-made Georgian clay bricks. Inside of the mansion you’ll find a display of all 44 flags that have flown over the United States and inspiring quotes from famous Americans, in addition to The Kinsey Collection, which is an aet exhibit representing over 400 years of African-American achievement and contribution.
Attraction Info: The main attractions are the “Voices of Liberty” and “The American Adventure.”
The Voices of Liberty is a costumed a cappella group that sings patriotic songs in the Pavilion’s foyer most of the time, though they may appear outside on the stage.
They usually start singing about 15 minutes before the American Adventure is set to start and they’ll invite you to enter the theater for the show when they finish singing.
Their first show is typically at 11:45am with hourly shows continuing into the early evening.
The American Adventure is a 30-minute show featuring animatronics and film. The theater seats more than 1,000 so it’s unlikely your wait time will be any longer than it takes for the previous show to finish. The next show time is clearly labeled outside the theater.
Mark Twain and Benjamin Franklin narrate several important historical scenes and the show ends with a touching film and a highlighting of the twelve figures located around the theater.
The U.S. Pavilion is the only World Showcase country without a table-service restaurant, Liberty Inn is the largest air-conditioned quick service in World Showcase with plenty of outdoor seating as well.
Options are better and more varied than they once were with items like the very good New York Strip Steak and Fried Fish headlining the menu.
The Pavilion also features a funnel cake kiosk that serves funnel cakes in the $6-$12 range (depending on toppings).
Finally, Fife and Drum Tavern serves turkey legs, pretzels, and a variety of other quick snacks and treats. The American Dream, pictured above, is a delicious mixture of vanilla soft serve and frozen blue raspberry and strawberry slush.
Drink Around the World:
Fife & Drum’s Red Stag Lemonade is one of the better frozen mixed drinks available in World Showcase, marrying Jim Beam’s tasty cherry-flavored bourbon with sweet frozen slush. Sam Adams Seasonal and Yuengling drafts are available, in addition to wine and and cider by the bottle.
Liberty Inn offers Anchor Liberty Ale and SweetWater IPA on draft, both of which are very good. Sam Adams Seasonal and Bud Light are also available on draft, in addition to red and white wine.
Character Sightings: Characters are not usually present in the United States Pavilion.
Look for the alley to the left of Liberty Inn during the afternoon to see if any characters are training. You can occasionally find six or seven characters with short to nonexistent lines.
There is only one small gift shop to the right of The American Adventure that offers a variety of flag-related merchandise, in addition to wine and moonshine. A couple kiosks are also scattered around the Pavilion, but none offer anything much more thrilling than beach towels.
