United Kingdom Pavilion at Disney’s Epcot Review

May 28, 2020 ~ [est_time] read1 Comment

United Kingdom Pavilion

Pull up a list of all Epcot attraction and World Showcase Pavilion reviews here.

Setting: The United Kingdom Pavilion is one of the more architecturally diverse World Showcase Pavilions.

Epcot United Kingdom Pavilion

There are a variety of styles represented in the Hampton Court Palace, Anne Hathaway’s (William Shakespeare’s wife) thatched roof cottage, two castles, and a miniature version of Hyde Park.

Phone Booths United Kingdom Pavilion

You’ll see replicas of the red phone booths England is so famous for as well as a variety of beautiful garden areas. Additional phone booths sit just outside Rose & Crown Pub. They still make for a great photo-op.

United Kingdom Pavilion Walkways

There is a lot to see while strolling along the cobble-stoned walkways.

United Kingdom Pavilion Tea Store

Perhaps you’d like to drop in for a box of tea to take home.

Attraction Info: There are currently no major attractions inside the United Kingdom. For years, “The British Revolution” covered popular overseas hits in the courtyard towards the back of the Pavilion.

United Kingdom Pavilion Entertainment

Disney let them go in March 2020, and it’s currently unclear who will replace them. If anything, you can now run among these bushes without being disturbed by a Beatles cover.

During the D23 Expo in 2019, Disney made a vague announcement about a Mary Poppins attraction and overlay coming to the Pavilion. It’s likely that Disney has put those plans on hold.

Dining Options:

Rose and Crown Dining Room

First, Rose & Crown Dining Room is the United Kingdom’s table service restaurant, serving reasonably priced pub fare.

Rose and Crown Pub Epcot Menu Favorites

The menu changes constantly, but standard dishes like the Scotch Egg, Bangers and Mash, Cottage Pie, and Fish and Chips are best.

Rose and Crown Pub Bangers and Mash

To illustrate, here’s the Bangers and Mash, which come in around $20. Pull up the full Rose and Crown menu at DisneyWorld.com here.

Rose and Crown Whiskey Flight

The drink list is better than average with whiskey flights and about a dozen beers on draft.

United Kingdom Pavilion Fish and Chips Yorkshire

Generally, Yorkshire County Fish serves just one entree in the Fish & Chips. It’s comfort food at its finest and the Pavilion does a nice job of serving up everything hot and fresh. Occasionally, Yorkshire will serve up some variety of meat pie as well.

Joffrey's Stand Epcot World Showcase

Joffrey’s coffee also sells tea, coffee, boozy cocktails, snacks, and pastries across from the Pub.

Drink Around the World:

United Kingdom Beer Cart

The Rose & Crown beer kiosk is the most convenient spot to grab a beer or other beverage, which sometimes includes Innis & Gunn, Bass, and Harp on draft. If either Bass or Harp Lagers aren’t available at the Cart, they’re usually offered at Yorkshire.

Most people don’t realize that this seating section off to the left is available to any guest looking for an opportunity to sit down. Take advantage of one of the more picturesque waterside views around Epcot.

Rose and Crown Welsh Dragon

Draft beer, in addition to mixed drinks like the Welsh Dragon pictured above (Peach Schnapps, Melon Liqueur, Crème de Menthe, Orange Juice, and Pineapple Juice), are available at Rose & Crown Pub.

The Pub portion, with the entrance on the right above, doesn’t accept or require reservations.

You’ll find a few tables inside and friendly cast members will pour whatever you’d like from the menu into a plastic cup to-go.

Character Sightings:

Winnie the Pooh Meet United Kingdom

Winnie the Pooh now typically meets alone in the back of the Toy store. He’s pictured above with Tigger, who makes rare appearances.

Alice in Wonderland Meet Epcot

Alice from Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins make appearances out on the promenade in between the United Kingdom Pavilion and the bridge over to the France Pavilion.

They typically take turns greeting with one character out at a time.

Shopping Opportunities:

United Kingdom Epcot Shopping

Shopping is the main activity in the United Kingdom Pavilion and there are a variety of stores to check out.

For instance, you’ll find clothing, football (soccer) jerseys, toys, books, tea sets, food items, perfume, jewelry, band memorabilia, t-shirts, and much, much more.

Overall Ratings:

Setting: 7/10

Attractions: 2/10

Dining: 6/10

Drinking: 9/10

Shopping: 6/10

The United Kingdom is the second World Showcase Pavilion that guests will come upon as they enter on the Canada side. In addition, most people are familiar with the UK, many guests take some time to browse the shops and potentially pick up a drink (or two). Take advantage of the lagoon-side outdoor seating whenever possible.
