Yak & Yeti Lunch

Yak & Yeti Dinner

Yak & Yeti Dinner 2

Food Type: Pan-Asian

Location: Asia, to the left of Kali River Rapids.

Dining Plan: 1 Table Service

Cost: Appetizers: $6-$15. Entrées: $18-$29. Kids: $9.

Discounts: Does not participate in Tables in Wonderland; 10% Annual Passholder; 10% Disney Vacation Club.

Menu: One menu for lunch and dinner: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/animal-kingdom/yak-and-yeti-restaurant/menus/

Bar: Just inside the entrance on the right sits a bar area with six stools. Pop in for a drink or a light meal without a reservation.

Setting: Disney describes it as “Beautifully decorated with Nepalese artistic touches and sand-washed hues.  Yak & Yeti Restaurant features an array of artifacts from the collection ‘the proprietor’ and his family amassed from their travels across Southeast Asia.” The restaurant is full of authentic statues, relics, paintings, and art and no two spaces in the restaurant feel alike. Suffice to say, Yak & Yeti is one of the best themed restaurants in all of Disney World and you’ll instantly feel like you’ve left the Animal Kingdom and entered a remote Himalayan sanctuary (complete with restaurant and full bar).

Advantages:

  • Fantastic, unique theming
  • Comfortable, air-conditioned atmosphere
  • Accessible menu with a few exotic touches
  • Usually easy to get a walk-up table without reservation
  • Consistent food

Disadvantages:

  • No Tables in Wonderland discount
  • Only one menu for lunch and dinner, which can lead to some expensive lunches.

Tips: Make a reservation 15 minutes before close and enjoy exiting with virtually nobody else around. This is particularly cool when it’s dark because Animal Kingdom has a beautiful lighting package that most guests don’t have an opportunity to enjoy because it closes early most days. Upstairs seating is typically quieter and more intimate. There’s a small bar area if you prefer that vibe.

Value: Above average.  Meals are moderately priced with high quality food and generous portions. You’ll pay about $7 more than the quick service options outside for higher quality fare in a much more comfortable, air-conditioned atmosphere.

Reputation:Good. Most people enjoy their meals here and food quality and service are generally better than the other Asian-inspired restaurants on property, including Nine Dragons at Epcot.
