9/5/15 Update: Menu updated.
Location: Tomorrowland Terrace is located in Tomorrowland. This picture was taken from the entrance to the Plaza Restaurant on Main Street. It’s also accessible from a path across from Stitch’s Great Escape.
Food Type: Disney standard burgers, nuggets, hot dogs, and sandwiches.
Dining Plan: One quick service credit and several items count as snacks.
Menu:
Unique Items: None.
Advantages:
- Plenty of covered seating.
- Service is usually fast.
- This is a great place to take a break when Tomorrowland Terrace isn’t serving food because so many tables are available.
Disadvantages:
- It’s only open when crowds are extremely heavy.
- All unique entrees have been stripped in favor of standard items.
- If it’s raining, seats are more difficult to find due to all the people camping out.
Value: Below average. Nothing stands out here.
Reputation: Tomorrowland Terrace has a pretty low reputation, thanks in part to the fact that it’s rarely open and the fact that several of the items offered aren’t particularly good.
Food Choices:
Lobster Roll:
I don’t have a lobster roll frame of reference because as far as I can recall I’ve never had one before. Florida isn’t exactly known for its lobsters. This one was actually pretty good…I think. I doubt it would live up to your expectations if you were a lobster roll connoisseur from Maine, but it was better than I was expecting it to be. The roll was fresh and it seemed like there was a decent amount of lobster in it. Intrigued, I asked the cashier for the list of ingredients. You can ask the cashier for a list of ingredients for every item on the menu at any Disney quick service location and they’ll hand you a thick binder. Lo and behold, the number one ingredient was listed as “lobster meat,” so I guess we’ll have to take their word for it. I wasn’t too sure what was going on with the homemade chips. Some of the them were crunchy, others soft, some of them salty, others less so. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if this was intentional or not. The crunchy ones were better I thought.
Seating:
Tomorrowland Terrace offers plentiful seating, though it is all outdoors. The setting is mostly concrete and ferns.
Pretty comfortable seating.
An example of what it looks like in the rain.
Condiments:
Expect the usual.
I’ve been to Disney World 4 times and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Tomorrowland Terrace open. However, we always stop in there to use the restrooms and sit down – because it’s not open, it’s one of the few close-to-deserted areas and a great way to get out of the crowds for a breather.
This should always be open what is disney thinking .
