As the name implies, fruit is largely the name of the game here. If carbs are what you’re after, then Mickey Pretzels are also on offer.
I would call your attention to the $5.29 Corn on The Cob, which is unique to the venue. This is probably not the position I would want to undertake in the Florida summer, at least if six beers per hour weren’t part of the deal. The point is that cast freshly roast the corn throughout the day, making for a fresh snack.
A cast member will serve the corn somewhat awkwardly with aluminum foil wrapped around one end.
So I walked it over to Harambe Fruit Market’s seating area like I was some kind of band leader waving a baton.
Cast slather the corn in butter, salt, and berbere spice and grill the corn in the husk, which then tears away from the cob with a sweet, buttery flavor. And although it might look like it’s covered in the berbere spice, it only adds a mild spiciness to about half of the corn. Overall, the butter, salt, and chili flavors combined to make for an addictive flavor profile. The corn was satisfying, even in the unrelenting summer heat. It’s probably not a “must buy,” but if you’ll die if you don’t imminently ingest corn on the cob, then you could do a lot worse. You can also use a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.
There are two sides to the Market, which throws people off. Check the length of the two lines because one is usually much shorter. That’s typically the line on the Wildlife Express train side down because it’s opposite of the main drag.
It was a dreary day here yesterday, so I just took to piddeling around online and realized…
