9/4/15 Update: Menu updated.
Friar’s Nook is located in Fantasyland to the right of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and across from the entrance to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Menu:
Bacon Cheeseburger Macaroni & Cheese:
I’m guessing this picture will not be used in Disney’s marketing materials.
This was actually sort of really good, in kind of a really gross This Is America way. It’s piping hot, EXTREMELY CHEESY!!!!!! and loaded with stuff. There’s a layer of Disney ground taco meat sans seasoning underneath the lettuce and tomato. Bacon bits might work better than the strip, but the strip does offer a bit more visual oomph. As I walked my tray over to Pinocchio Village Haus to sit down, people literally sneered at me. Haters gonna hate. Anyway, this thing is probably 7,000 calories and tastes like Stouffer’s Macaroni and Cheese with ground beef mixed in. I probably would have left off the crunchy lettuce and tomato and the flavor would be a bit more cohesive. You can always ask for the toppings on the side. Friar’s Nook is only open on busier days. I was pretty much disgusted with myself over how much I enjoyed it.
Pot Roast Macaroni and Cheese:
This is the same Stouffer’s Mac and Cheese with some sort of shredded beef on top. The main problem with it is the moisture in the beef, which causes the cheese underneath to become watered down and sort of pool at the top. The beef didn’t have a lot of flavor on its own and had a mushy quality to it. The Cheeseburger version worked a little better I think and you can always opt for one of the $6 Macaroni and Cheese Kids’ Picks for a smaller cup, along with a couple sides and a beverage. It’s hard to imagine the same cup without any toppings other than bread crumbs being worth the full $8.
Seating is outdoors in front of the quick service or you can strut over to Pinocchio Village Haus across the way and sit there.
Were headed to Disney in Sept., I see the dining pages have t been updated recently, any changes?
Two vegetarian daughters I need to plan for, I love your site it’s so easy to use!
