Star Wars Fireworks Added at Hollywood Studios Most (But Not All) Days in May

In today’s edition of ,”What annoying thing did Disney, ruiner of vacations everywhere, do today?” we have some entertainment additions and extended hours at Hollywood Studios. So far this year, the Star Wars Fireworks had been added to every single night in January, February, March, and April. But here in May, they have been added to four nights each week – at least at the moment. Disney has also neglected to make changes after the first four weeks, so we don’t yet know the schedule over the very busy Memorial Day Weekend at the end of the month. I would expect to see the fireworks and a second Fantasmic on at least the 29th and 30th. A new show with projection mapping is expected in June, when hopefully the fireworks will return to a nightly schedule.

Obviously if you want to see the fireworks and they are not yet scheduled on the day of your planned visit, you’d need to switch your days around. If you have no interest and your day doesn’t feature the nighttime spectacular, then you can expect it to be a little less crowded than it would be otherwise. I don’t yet have updated attendance expectations for May. My assumption is that Mondays will see a slight uptick at the Studios specifically with the fireworks not scheduled on Tuesdays. But the specific day you visit Hollywood Studios is not all that important. With five rides, it’s not like Toy Story Mania is going to have a 15-minute wait one day and a 75-minute wait at the same time the next. What you decide to do is far more important than the day you decide to do it.

I guess all I can do is hope they go ahead and add them every night. We will be going on a Monday in May. While I was hoping we would see the fireworks, I’d rather not see them than have to deal with extra crowds. Of course I have an adr and can’t change days without having to cancel and re-book breakfast. I realize this is a 3rd world problem but, I’ve already had to give up a Be Our Guest lunch because they added an extra magic morning That we don’t qualify for. I’m to the point of just cancelling everything and just waiting to see what disney does every morning and then deciding we’re to go. Normally we get a 10 day park ticket and I enjoy planning our Disney days. But this trip it’s a relief to only have 5 day tickets . Our next trip we will only buy 1 and it will be for a Special Event night at the Magic Kingdom. We won’t make any adr’ s and we won’t need a plan. We will run around and ride whatever we can for 7 hours. Just like we do at six flags.

We absolutely LOVED the StarWars FWs! These partially make up for less substance currently at HS. Beside seeing them in HS, you can also check them out in Epcot. Right after Illuminati ends at 9:15 during April, you will begin to see the StarWars fireworks going off in the distance somewhere behind Canada’s direction. For May you’ll need to wait until 9:45pm.

This is why they changed my TSM FP+ for the evening of Monday the 2nd….they sent me a cxl e-mail for my 7:30-8:30 without explanation, but then allowed me to rebook it for 6:20-7:20.

I don’t see the Star Wars FW listed anywhere for December. Was this a summertime even? Same for the new light show at Animal Kingdom. Nothing on the schedule for December
Do you think this will change?
