We continue on from Bavaria in Germany.
The Refreshment Outpost gets into the spirit of the holidays with a couple of exclusive Festival offerings.
We’ll also reconsider the Frozen Brown Elephant.
The Warm Caramel Stuffed Salted Pretzel has been available here and there around property over the last year or so, originally at The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland and then at Golden Oak Outpost for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
But in no location was it ever as delicious as here at Refreshment Outpost with Vanilla Soft-Serve, Chocolate Sauce, Butterscotch Chips, and Sea Salt for the Festival of the Holidays.
Here’s what the Magic Kingdom version looked like with the ooey-gooey caramel sauce woven inside the soft pretzel and the coarser salt. The caramel situation is just about the same with the Epcot version.
Erin would also remind you about the $12.25 Frozen Brown Elephant, which is a delicious mixture of Frozen Coca-Cola and Amarula Liqueur available all-year. You typically still see some 80-degree days in Orlando in November and December and this may be more refreshing than a hot coffee drink with a similar liqueur.
The Caramel Pretzel might not be as highfalutin as you or I would like, but it certainly is delicious. I’d recommend it over just about any other Festival dessert, particularly now that you can’t pick one up on its own elsewhere.
