We continue our circle around World Showcase with China and a look around the “Inside Shanghai Disney Resort” collection. The exhibit replaced Tomb Warriors: Guardian Spirits of Ancient China back in June of 2016.
You’ll find it inside of a building that is technically called House of the Whispering Willows.
That’s located to the left of the Temple of Heaven, which is where you’ll find “Reflections of China,” a Circle-Vision 360° movie. You’ll find more than 150 pictures below, so don’t click if you’re down to your last three megabytes of data or something. There’s plenty of other easywdw.com content to waste that on.
You can enter the Shanghai Disneyland exhibit either through the exterior doors or head inside the Temple of Heaven/Reflections of China and then take a left.
If you’re interested in seeing Reflections of China, you might check inside to see how much time is left until the next showing. If it’s just a couple of minutes, you might hold off entering the gallery until after.
The exhibit’s size is pretty significant, with a lot of artwork, costumes, statues, paintings, models, and more.
A lot, some, or most of the pieces were previously shown at some kind of D23 event, I think. If you have plans to visit soon, you might hold off on spoiling what you’ll see as I have pictures of just about every piece.

We’ll continue with other happenings around the China Pavilion.
I noticed this last time I was there, but I didn’t look at it because it felt like a “Look at all this cool stuff we’re not giving you” exhibit. I know it’s supposed to showcase the creativity, but seriously… I can’t imagine that polling well in user research. It seems like the lazy choice. But, maybe I’m wrong and a lot of people enjoy it.
Personally, I feel that it’s an add for the Chinese park, so it may well entice people to travel there. China is slowly opening up to tourism, and this is a big attraction.
I enjoyed it but I really enjoy the behind the scenes stuff. I work in the design/tech side of the entertainment industry though so I may be in the minority here.
I really enjoy your WS posts Josh, keep them coming and thanks a bunch 🙂
3 posts in one day?! I think I may asphyxiate in glee!
Thanks Josh! Love the photos 🙂
On our trip a couple of weeks ago I was so looking forward to the Tomb Warrior exhibit. I had only seen it in pictures. I stumbled upon this and asked someone where it was at and they told me it had been replaced. I was so disappointed. Maybe the tomb warriors wasn’t that big of a deal but I hadn’t seen them in person and looks so cool in pictures.
Hey! If you are interested in Tomb Warriors and you find yourself in Chicago, the Field Museum has a really cool Tomb Warrior exhibit.
Great post! Fantastic pics!
The real question is have you booked your trip to Shanghai Disney yet so that we can all read your first hand account of the newest park?
seems a shame to skip your photos, so I skimmed through …really quickly…thank you for the information, I had no idea they changed the exhibit and I may have just skipped it
Shanghai looks amazing. I’m sure that slinky dog coaster is almost as cool tho :/
I kind of have Shanghai Disney Envy now.
