Disney added Fantasmic on November 5th, 2011. Currently, November 17th is the only night that does not currently have a Fantasmic scheduled in November. Disney doesn’t schedule Fantasmic on certain nights because they are expecting a private event to be scheduled or want to keep an evening available should a company choose to rent out part or all of the Studios. Because of the lower staffing, fewer number of attractions, and shorter hours, the Studios is the cheapest/easiest of the Disney Parks to rent for an evening. I suppose Animal Kingdom would technically be cheaper should you just want to ride DINOSAUR over and over again. Maybe you could rent out Hollywood Studios for those that make their sales quota and DINOSAUR for those that don’t, before firing them the next day (if they don’t just quit on the spot).
Hollywood Studios is “not recommended” on November 5th. You may recall there was a warning that the Studios would change to “not recommended” if and when Fantasmic was added. I’m expecting a much more substantial update to the November operating schedule on or around October 17th. At that time, we should see extended hours at Magic Kingdom on select nights, additional evening entertainment at Magic Kingdom throughout the month, and a second Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios over Thanksgiving week and potentially on Extra Magic Hour mornings/evenings. Disney extended the operating hours at Animal Kingdom back on September 28th.
There was a mistake in the crowd calendar image for April 2012. It was showing a 7am morning Extra Magic Hour at Magic Kingdom for the second week, when it should be 8am. Luckily, the “daily analysis” did show the correct operating schedule. It has been fixed and thanks to Peggy for making me aware of it.
There should be fewer “live updates” this week. A lot of the “core information (ride reviews, resort reviews, “best of…” etc.)” needs to be updated, among other things, and I’m going to spend most of my time working on that. I’m also in the process of updating and converting all of the “touring plans” to the new format.
