The Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival has opened in the Imagination Pavilion in what used to be Captain EO’s spot. The three shorts currently playing are, “Get A Horse,” “For The Birds,” and “La Luna.” Like most things, each is available online if you Google “[title of short] streaming,” though the larger screen and improved sound at the theater may be worth a stop if you have nothing else to do. “For the Birds” is a personal favorite.
Like EO, the Short Film Festival has been added as a Tier 2 FastPas+ selection. It’s assuredly a complete waste of a FP+ as using it only gets you into the general waiting area for the show and shows will likely never fill to capacity. EO couldn’t even fill its last show ever. I was actually there on EO’s last day, but as the Chancellor of the High Council of Walt Disney World Media Elite™, I never appear in the same place as the Vice Chancellor of the High Council of Walt Disney World Media Elite™, who was “enjoying” the show in my stead.
Otherwise, visit the Short Film Festival as you would EO – in inclement weather or when it’s hot and you’d like a break off your feet in air-conditioning. This is assuredly just a placeholder until something more significant arrives.
Josh –
Any guesses as what WDW might be thinking for this space long-term? As in, what the “something more significant” could be?
This sounds like, well, a bummer. At least I got to laugh at EO and my kids thought it was “awesome.”
