A Walk Around the 2017 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival – Future World

March 13, 2017 ~ 1 minute read15 Comments

We’ll take a walk around Future World to see what this year’s Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot brings.

Figment debuted at this year’s Festival of the Arts and continues presiding over the Park, now with some backup flowers.

Mickey and friends circle around what turns out is a maypole rather than a hookah. Perhaps John Morgan will sponsor the arrangement next year.

It’s certainly not the most elaborate opening scene that we’ve seen in recent memory, but after having some “issues” with guests using “creative angles” on the various waist-level water features, it may be for the best.

Speaking of water, the backside of last year’s welcome scene has moved out to the middle of the walkway up to World Showcase.

This year, guests have a couple of opportunities to become more of a part of the vignettes.

PhotoPass would be happy to take your picture with their camera or yours. Over in Germany, photographers have props that include gems and pick axes at the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs living sculptures.

The popular butterfly haven returns in Future World West kind of behind Club Cool and Character Spot:

It’s worth a stop and has a little bit of an educational slant, in addition to the pretty Papilionoidea.

On that same side you’ll find the prettiest of the flower murals:

Never take a picture at Epcot if the monorail isn’t visible. Ever.

A few of the topiaries on the West side:

Further up on the walk into World Showcase, you’ll see a couple of exhibits:

One of two Future World playgrounds is also on this side – themed to music this year.

Over on the Future World East side, you’ll find the Road to the Florida 500.

It runs along this path behind Mouse Gear that connects the Test Track area with the walkway up to World Showcase:

This area is also home to the second, smaller Future World playground. The shade seems to be a little better over here, at least.

Phineas and Ferb welcome guests in front of the only Agent P kiosk still open.

Apparently two topiaries of the same character are welcome in the same park:

A little sunburst crazy this year…

Stitch is out in front of MouseGear.

Also outside of MouseGear is the Purple Martins exhibit:

pur-ple. mar-tin.

We’ll take a look around World Showcase next.

Hey Josh–thanks for the blog, your photos look so much better than mine! Question for you: where to buy Orange Blossom Pilsner near Disney property? We have a car. Spent $24 on 3 tonight and really enjoyed them but figured for that price, could’ve bought some 6-packs. We looked online but figured you’d be a good resource. Keep up the good work.

I would suggest the ABC Liquor Store on 11951 S Apopka Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL 32836. About 8 minutes from Disney Springs. You can call in advance: (407) 239-0775.

Thanks so much. Galactic hero! Btw, saw someone in line at Mad Tea Party with print outs of your cheat sheets…gave me a chuckle.

Do they have a special popcorn bucket for flower and garden show. I have seen special designs at MK for Halloween and Christmas. I wondered if the Epcot bucket was redone from the mission to mars one i got last August to a new design featuring the Topiaries

This is really nice. I’m looking forward to the World Showcase pictures. We had half a day at Epcot during last year’s festival, but unfortunately we didn’t have much time to look around at all the topiaries.
