Restaurantosaurus Review at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Restaurantosaurus is located in DinoLand USA.
See this page for all of the Disney’s Animal Kingdom quick service reviews.
Location: Restaurantosaurus is located in the back of DinoLand near TriceraTop Spin. DINOSAUR is located down a path directly to the left of it and Dino-Bite Snacks is next door on the right.
Food Type: The regular menu is your standard Disney chicken nuggets, shrimp, and hamburgers. Beginning at 4:30pm, Restaurantosaurus offers a separate Burgers and Sundaes menu. Read all about that offering here.
Dining Plan: Yes, quick service.
Discounts: Unlike most quick services, Restaurantosaurus accepts the 20% Tables in Wonderland discount and does not tack on the 18% gratuity. Flame Tree Barbecue and Pizzafari also offer this discount.
Restaurantosaurus Menu:
Pull up the most recent menu at DisneyWorld.com here.
Unique Items: Nothing is particularly unique. The Chicken BLT Sandwich, Cobb Salad, and Spicy Southwestern Burger are slight variations on other Disney entrees.
Advantages:
- Service is usually fast, friendly, and efficient.
- There is an expanded toppings bar for the burgers and other fare.
- The main seating areas are air-conditioned, vast, and extremely well-themed.
- Fountain beverage refills are complimentary.
- Music and décor are a lot of fun.
- It’s usually open through Park close.
- The restrooms are large, convenient, and inside the Restaurantosaurus.
- Restaurantosaurus is fun to say.
Disadvantages:
- The menu doesn’t feature any items that should be overly impressive. It’s mostly your standard Disney food available elsewhere.
- The Kids Picks are served in a pail with a plastic shovel and cost between about $2 more than most other meals. There was a time when you could order the meals without the extra plastic to save a couple of dollars, but it seems increasingly rare that Disney makes that exception.
- It’s not particularly convenient from anywhere other than Discovery Island or DinoLand.
Value: Average. This is your standard Disney burger/nugget/fried shrimp outlet in every way other than the fun theme.
Reputation: Restaurantosaurus isn’t a bad choice if you’re looking for the standard Disney quick service food. Although the menu is rather basic, the food is prepared well and the toppings bar adds a little more life into those burgers, hot dogs, and nuggets.
Food Choices:
With just about everything available elsewhere, it doesn’t make a tremendous amount of sense to regurgitate the same reviews here. The Bacon Cheeseburger Combo is potentially worth a look, as it includes about $25 worth of food for $17. The very good Breaded Shrimp and Chicken are just about the same as what’s served at Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom. The Green Goddess Dressing on the Cobb is better than it has any right to be. The Spicy Southwestern Burger is also an above average use of the Impossible Burger.
Seating:
Restaurantosaurus has a mammoth seating complex with plenty of dark, air-conditioned tables. It’s the most comfortable seating area at Animal Kingdom, though some people may prefer the brighter colors and atmosphere at Pizzafari. This is where you want to head if you’re purchasing a snack and want to get out of the sun. Unfortunately, it’s a little bit out of the way in DinoLand, probably by design. This is also one of the most themed restaurants in all of Disney World, with several distinct seating areas.
Outdoor seating is also available on patios around the building.
Hey how are those Sweet Potato Fries? I’ve never had any. Thanks
I am so upset they moved the McDonald’s our of here!!!! I loved it!
Just curious… are there ANY McDonald’s remaining in Disney World? I hope not. Great site by the way!! 🙂
@Nicole.
They moved all the McDonald’s out of all Disney Parks a few years ago.
Time to get over it.
Very disappointed to see the shrimp poor boy is no longer on the menu. The sweet potato fries are pretty good, but then again, everything at WDW just tastes better.
Restaurantosaurus was our go to dining choice for most recent Animal Kingdom visits. Picky daughter was happy with simple fare, and foodie son made a meal of condiments. Can’t beat the beverage variety.
I promise I won’t give uposaurus…
We like that Restaurantasours’ kids meals are served in pails and shovels. We love them for playing on the beach at our hotel. We just strap them to the back pack so they aren’t so hard to carry. On our last day, we hand them off to another family to play with.
I loved the Vegetable Sub(osaurus) and sweet potato fries, was really surprised at how good it was. Kids liked the meals in buckets and we took them to the beach a few days later, pretty cool.
It’s almost impossible to find Sprite Zero out of the fountain beverages. Does anyone know where you can get it besides here and Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory?
I was recommended this blog by my cousin. I’m not sure whether this post is written by him as no one else know such detailed about my difficulty.
You’re incredible! Thanks!
