Isle of Java Review at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Isle of Java is located in Discovery Island.
See this page for all of the Disney’s Animal Kingdom quick service reviews.
You’ll find it to the right of Flame Tree Barbecue on the walk to DinoLand USA from Discovery Island.
Right about here.
Here’s the menu:
You can pull up the current menu here.
With a wide ranging menu, this kiosk offers a multitude of items like cappuccinos with and without rum, pretzels, coffee, danish, muffins, cookies, other treats, bottled beverages, frozen drinks, and more. Considering its small size, it’s a small miracle that everything that you see is actually available.
Potentially because it blends into the background, there’s rarely a line at Isle of Java, which makes it one of the better stops for a quick drink or snack.
Isle of Java also typically stocks a pastry item that isn’t on any of the main printed menus, either online or at the venue. Instead, you’ll see a placard advertising a single item near the register. In this case we have the $5 “Chocolate Donut Holes Rolled in Sugar and Spice, Freshly Fried and Served Warm with a Chocolate Orange Glaze.”
Unfortunately, what we were served was incredibly disappointing. The donut holes were almost as hard as a rock. They were crumbly and chewy with a dryness that we would have thought to be impossible. Fortunately, Isle of Java will have moved on from these hockey pucks on a stick by the time you visit. I’ve seen mini cinnamon rolls, apple cider donut holes, and all sorts of things offered. I’ve even ordered these Donut Holes when they were much more satisfying.
If you do pick something up, and you’re looking to sit down and relax for a minute, carry your bounty over to the waterside tables at Flame Tree Barbecue. There, you can sip your coffee while gazing across the water at the Forbidden Mountain. It doesn’t get much better than that.
