Magic Kingdom Attraction and Ride Walking Times

by josh on April 11, 2011

Just in case you were wondering how long it takes to walk from the Magic Carpets of Aladdin to Astro Orbiter, you can take a look at the following graph and chart of walking times in between any two Magic Kingdom attractions.  It was put together with the help of our friends over at Tableau Software.

You’ll find a graph on the bottom and a chart to the right.  You can change the attraction in the drop down menu above the graph and the slider bar.  You can also mouse over the bars on the graph and it will give you the walking time, starting point, and ending point.

Expect to see walking times built into the forthcoming custom maps and touring plans, beginning with the Magic Kingdom.

The walking times are based on a moderate pace from queue entrance to queue entrance in average to above average crowds.  I would be happy to add sprinting or crawling times if you’d like to take on that project.

The finalized version will have the proper attraction names written out and potentially walking time from the quick services and a few of the missing attractions.

What a great feature to have! I I am looking forward to your Magic Kindom touring plans – hope they will be ready before I leave for WDW on May 1st.

I love the new feature, and the website overall! I thought I knew a lot about touring the parks, but I’ve learned so much more here – thank you! I noticed that you do not have the Tiki Room listed in the graph. Maybe because it’s temporarily closed?

Josh, do you ever sleep or do you just have a lot of extra time on your hands? Only kidding, this site keeps getting better and better.

Math geek here

I’m dying to know the methodology. Distances and an avg walking speed? Personal trials?

I love it by the way

Steve – Both

Please don’t forget about those 4 year olds when calculating – they are true quarks of nature!
