If there’s one thing I hate in this world, it’s not knowing about something. So when I heard about this Easter egg display at the Grand Floridian, I was very upset because I had no idea they did such a thing. Thanks to Chanon for bringing it to my attention. Disney Parks Blog has a (less good obviously) writeup from yesterday here.

But as it turns out, this is the first year. You may also remember back during the Food and Wine Festival that Chef Erich is a very good friend of the website.

Forget Beast’s Castle and Goofy’s rocket, I’m bringing this bad boy home.

With that out of the way, we can take a closer look at the display. This is about half of it. We’re right inside the Grand Floridian’s main entrance.

Very cool.

Love the pics! However, waiting on the edge of my seat for DENIED part 2!
The CM in charge of the Beauty and the Beast egg pretty much just phoned it in. Paper Cutouts? Really?
That flower maiden egg (long brown hair in a white dress carrying a flower basket) is gorgeous. Could you tell if it was hand painted.
And nothing says Easter better than naked Duffy with a baby blue bow.
I almost never say this…but I have to…’Shut Up!!!’
…these Easter eggs are sp-egg-tacular!!!
So how many teeth marks were in those eggs by days end?
The Snow White one is my favorite!
Very, very cool.
Snow White one is cool! The butterfly egg is beautiful too. Not sure about the bunny with the blue backpack… I wonder which restaurants these were hiding at for the last 15 years. Glad I gave you something to do on a rainy Saturday afternoon!
It must be an Easter/Passover miracle that you had your MKlll to capture the beauty of eggs, they are spectacular.
I sooooo wish Disney and ABC would broadcast the Easter Parade. I know it has been many years since they did. I can remember eating my candies and watching .
Do you know how long the display will be up? I’ll be at the GF April 19th, i’d love it if these were still there, they are amazing!! To think all the detail that went into these is incredible
That rabbit is kinda creepy…
Snow White is the best ever. Wow. Beautiful.
beautiful!! love them all!
now… where’s part 2 and DENIED???
The Snow White egg is my favorite!
I’d happily eat them all now!
Another anxiosuly waiting for part two and DENIED!
Those eggs are amazing, the talent, time and effort that it took to create them.
that yellow chick is just way TOO CUTE.
And are we to believe someone chose to add Duffy to their egg display???
Those eggs are beautiful! Love the first yellow one! Duffy looks great! We love anything that has Duffy on it!
I second that comment on the flower maiden. Beautifully done.
Wow…those eggs are works of art. Amazing. Great photos Josh!
Thanks ^_^
I know from a very reliable source, Chef Erich himself, everything is hand painted with cocoa butter and molded by hand with modeling and melted chocolate. Certainly NO paper cut outs! Although these giant chocolate Easter eggs were made every year and placed in the different restaurants, the GM (Norm Noble) thought this year, why not put it in the lobby – where more people can enjoy it. Wow – thanks for that wonderful insight / idea, Mr. Noble!
