Celebrate America Fireworks Finale 2K12 and Happy Independence Day

by josh on July 4, 2012

Enjoy three minutes of fireworks:

I like the reflection on the water. The grasshoppers stop buzzing after I yell at them to stop buzzing (for America).

I’m going to run out to Epcot, and if I don’t kill myself, Animal Kingdom.

We just got back from MK and had a really wonderful time! But ohhhh the MASSES walking into the park at 1:30 in the afternoon! Stay safe Josh!

It would be distinctly unpatriotic for the grasshoppers to buzz over the fireworks.

Those were some great fireworks!

Have fun, thanks for the video!

Thanks for posting! This will probably be the only time I see Disney’s 4th of July fireworks as I am not brave enough to be there in person!

It looks like the first two boats should’ve of been swapped so there would’ve been a Flag-stars-flag pattern.

So, How many people were on the Poly beach? Thinking I might want to try that for NYE.

Thank you!

Where were these taken? I had heard you couldn’t be at the hotels or the beaches unless you were hotel guests. Is this true?

josh July 4, 2012 at 3:01 pm

It’s from the beach at the Polynesian. It wasn’t particularly crowded. The fireworks were delayed until about 10:15pm (supposed to start at 9pm) due to rain/lightning. There are also the persistent rumors that Disney is going to “issue wristbands” and “check room cards” to make sure everyone at the beach is staying at the resort. I can assure you that it would be logistically impossible to comb the beach at 8:30pm checking for wristbands. The best they could do is turn away cars without dining reservations/room cards. They could theoretically try to staff the various entrances to the beach, but it would be extremely difficult to keep people out. And really, that kind of “find and remove” strategy isn’t really Disney’s thing. In other words, we didn’t see a single security person around checking anything.

Josh, You are so talented… blogger, photographer AND grasshopper speaker. What other talents do you have? ;)

Happy 4th!

Thanks for the video, and for the reality check on that story about limited access on the Poly beach.

A salute to all nations, but mostly America.

Kevin July 4, 2012 at 6:33 pm

Sneaking onto the Poly’s beach? People paid good money to stay at the Poly, you interloper! Oh, I can’t wait to see the threads on the DIS about this! What’s next, parking at the Contemporary and walking to the MK? Pool hopping? Oh for shame, for shame.

grasshoppers = communist pigs

Jen July 4, 2012 at 7:52 pm

Thanks, Josh. Made my day

I think I’m gonna try viewing fireworks from poly next time. I went inside MK because I wanted to be inside the circle of fireworks but it was too hard to get a good spot with all the people. I was back to Epcot at 9:35 and was able to see the Hollywood Studios fireworks prior to RoE so that was cool.

pfalcioni July 4, 2012 at 10:29 pm

Wow, I almost think this is more impressive from across the water than from inside the park. Great video, thanks so much for posting it Josh :)

I saw it in person and that still gave me goosebumps!

Thanks for the video, Josh!

I hope they issue temporary bands if you have a dinner reservation. After all, people come eat at Boma then go look at the animals at AKL. We are hoping to eat at the Poly and watch Wishes in December.

Hi Josh! Thanks for the video! Have you been to the Grand Floridian lately and seen the construction? Not sure if I missed a post so wanted to ask. We are considering staying ere at the end of August (never been so don’t know much about th resort to begin with)….but I’m not sure how bad the construction around the pools are and such if worth it?? Anyone have any links to recent visits? Thank you!!! :)
