Below is the preliminary version of the March 2013 Disney World Crowd Calendar. If you’re not sure what you’re looking at (WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN UNDER A FREAKING ROCK?), visit this link and read the top section that explains what each line means. Click image to expand. Because space is limited, I moved March 31st down to the very bottom, but the color scheme seems to make it confusing with Easter Week above it. I’ll probably change March 31st to a neutral color. Or maybe obnoxious pastel Easter-y colors.
Overall, March 2013 should look familiar to anyone that has looked over March 2012. The first week sees lean crowds before spring breaks pick up across the country. Outside of that, March 17th to the 21st will be the least crowded, but you’re still looking at well above average crowds as compared to the rest of the year. Luckily, milder temperatures make the overall experience much more pleasant than the hot and humid summer months. The week before Easter, which falls on March 31st this year, is one of the busiest weeks of the year. Beginning April 8th, crowds move back down to below average to average through the middle of May. Given a choice, avoid March 8th – April 6th if you can because it’s very busy and very expensive to stay on site. Given the same crowd level, my personal preference would be to visit when it’s cooler out in March over June – Mid-August. I really don’t have anything nice to say about the month of July.

Between now and then do your recommendations change a lot or are the current ones pretty stable?
I know Disney updates park hours and entertainment schedules two weeks out. Does this often drastically affect the crowd calendar?

Thx Josh! We will be flying out from the UK on 19th March & usually hit AK on our first day but will avoid it as EMH on 20th. I will now spend the next 6 and a half months convincing my other half that you are GOD and we need to take your advice!!! Will be nice to start our annual pilgrimage with MK for a change, and we stand a chance of getting there really early as our body clocks will still be on UK time!
