Disney has extended the close at Animal Kingdom on numerous dates throughout the month of January. You can see the full schedule here or Disney has updated DisneyWorld.com with the same information. This won’t affect the recommendations. Disney has been known to extend the closes at Animal Kingdom somewhat randomly throughout the year. I’m not sure why they choose to, other than trying to make the Park more attractive and thus, people may be more likely to include a visit during their vacation. Remember that by attendance, Animal Kingdom is Disney’s least popular theme park in Florida. I couldn’t tell you why they don’t just start with the 6pm and 7pm closes initially as there was no question they were going to extend the closes during the first week as well as most weekends. Probably because they want to make my life more difficult. Expect a much more substantial update on December 14th or 17th. Bolded dates have changes.

It doesn’t really help us at all. We only have tickets three of those days and I don’t know if we’ll make it over there those days. We’d set aside some highly recommended days already.
Glad to see they added hours for the first week in January. Now I’m very unpatiently waiting for the rest of the parks, especially the Fantasmic! schedule. Thanks for the update!
