Disney extended Hollywood Studios’ close to 9pm and added a second Fantasmic at 9:30pm on September 30th. The Studios was already “not recommended” due to the evening Extra Magic Hours and early close on the 29th to accommodate the Tower of Terror race. If you are planning to see Fantasmic, the 9:30pm show during evening Extra Magic Hours is a good opportunity because so many people assume it’s only for those eligible for Extra Magic Hours. This isn’t the case and everyone is welcome to attend. However, the evening will be crowded, particularly on Sunset Boulevard and Toy Story Midway Mania because so few attractions are operating.

Thanks Josh for posting this information. We have dinner scheduled at the Brown Derby at 7:20 on the dining plan and had been considering cancelling because we knew we would not make it to Fastasmic. Even though we’ve been to Hollywood Studios many times we’ve never made it to Fastasmic. Now we won’t cancel our dinner reservation and will be able to make the 9:30 show….thanks so much for the info!
