Below is a list of changes to the June 2012 operating schedule. The schedule is available in its entirety here. The changes listed are absolutely “official,” but may not hit DisneyWorld.com until closer to the beginning of June. It’s easier for Disney to update a single PDF file than it is to update the hunk of junk that is their website. The June 2012 Disney World Crowd Calendar will be updated with these changes over the next couple days.
The biggest change is June 6th, where Disney extended the close at Hollywood Studios from 7pm to 10pm and added Fantasmic at 9pm and 10:30pm.
Friday June 1:

Yes and it will.
What does this do to the Extra Magic Hours schedule?
If the close is pushed back, Extra Magic Hours will also be pushed back. For example, if Hollywood Studios was previously closing at 9pm with Extra Magic Hours from 9pm to 12am and now closes at 10pm, Extra Magic Hours would run from 10pm to 1am. Same with morning Extra Magic Hour. If the open is 8am instead of 9am, the morning Extra Magic Hour would instead run from 7am – 8am.
What about these 10:30pm Fantasmic shows that are scheduled after Hollywood Studios officially closes?
Anyone is welcome to stay for the 10:30pm Fantasmic. While the Studios “closes” at 10pm, operating attractions will allow guests to enter the queue right up until 10pm regardless of wait time and when they’ll disembark. That means you could get in line for Toy Story Mania at 9:59pm, even if the wait is 30 minutes. Disney will often post longer-than-actual wait times at the end of the night to dissuade guests from entering the queue. Waits are often shorter than posted and the time immediately before official close is the second best time to ride the major attractions with minimal waits (immediately after Park open being the best). Stores along Hollywood Boulevard remain open until at least 10:30pm and most likely 11pm in the case of Mickey’s of Hollywood. Disney will have plenty of buses to transport any guests remaining at the Studios. In the case of a Fantasmic scheduled during evening Extra Magic Hours, anyone is also welcome to see that show. Disney won’t be checking for resort IDs at Fantasmic. A show during evening Extra Magic Hours is actually one of the least crowded shows to see because so many non-resort guests assume they aren’t eligible. Here is an example of what crowds can look like.
Will this affect the recommendations?
The recommendations during the first week should change slightly due to Disney adding Fantasmic on June 6th and extending the hours. That day was previously recommended because so many people would have avoided it with the short hours and lack of evening entertainment. Whatever after-hours event that was scheduled must have been canceled or moved.

why the heck did they schedule MK to close at midnight on Monday the 4th but not Saturday the 2nd or Sunday the 3rd?! i don’t get it at all. I honestly expected the MK to be open after 10pm on Saturday from June through mid August. But, then, I suppose the summer doesn’t really start until the next weekend… (thus why I can use my seasonal pass for the 2nd but not the 16th, iirc) I know Monday is one of the busiest days for MK, and Sunday does have the EMH closing at 2am now, but Saturday…?

Gee, I can’t believe you don’t have posted that my daughter will be dancing in the 3:00 MK parade on June 27th! It is the “Dance the World” event. They did one last year at the end of June. I guess they had about 800 students from dance schools around the country. So I assume it will be about the same this year, or maybe more because they added another one the following week. They told them they are “in” the parade but I have a feeling they must come thru right before the parade. So watch out for all us crazy dance moms lining Main Street that day!
