I just noticed that right now the Discover card 5% cash back is for theme parks. Does anyone know if paying for your Disney package is considered theme parks? Just thinking I could pay for my trip during the special and have $75 extra for the trip.

I just paid my trip off using my Discover card--I wonder if it'll be on my statement. That would be awesome!
Someone reported that a package doesn't come thru on a Credit card as a theme park, but a hotel. It's room and tickets and dining -- but it all comes thru as a hotel, not a theme park. My travel agent told me this, as she personally got burned by it when they offered this promo before.
I'm in the same boat. I'm not sure what to do either. I'd want to see someone's bill, and see it there in black and white. I wouldn't trust someone on the phone with giving me the correct info. I'd love for it to be true, though!

I am afraid of that but I do have to say a few other times something has happened with cashback bonus and I contacted them and they added it for me so if you contact them and they said yes I would contact them again if you do not get it. There is a chance they will override and credit you.
I don't have any specific experience with Discover. But, in the past I have never had any luck whenever I have tried to have something changed if the type of business didn't match. I have always gotten the general answer that the "category was selected by the business" and it is not up to the credit card company to make sure they are correct. So, I wouldn't count on it... and if you get it consider it a bonus.

Good luck getting the 5%!
Our last trip, I waited for the category to switch to "groceries" and then paid for our trip with gift cards bought at the grocery store. I got 5% cash back from my credit card, but $156 in free gas from the grocery.
