Beach Club Pre-Trip Report: Michiganders Head to WDW August 22nd-August 27th
So, my family and I visited WDW for the first time last September, and as soon as we got back, we wanted to start planning for the next trip! I learned so much the first time that I couldn't wait to plan an even better trip!!
Our cast:
Myself, Meredith, 36 years old: I visited WDW a couple of times in high school. Our marching band got to participate in a few parades in MK, which was a GREAT experience. Looking back, though, I know I didn't appreciate those trips as much as I should have. I was such a teenager!
Then, I was fortunate enough to visit WDW with my family last year, and it was an ENTIRELY different experience. I know it's cliche, but it really was magical.
DH, 35 years old: DH went to WDW once when he was a pre-teen with his family and once with us last year. I think he was completely surprised by how amazing our trip was last year. Subsequently, I was surprised by how readily he agreed to going back so soon!
DS7: DS has read every child-friendly Disney travel guide in the last year. He even asked me to MAKE an Epcot World Showcase guide for him so he can be fully prepared for this trip. Hmmmm, I wonder where he gets the obsessive personality from
.
DD5: Loves Princesses. Can't wait to see the Princesses. Wants to be a Princess. Or a Pirate Empress.
My Mom, 64 years old: FIRST EVER VISIT TO WDW. She is definitely the most excited of our entire group. When we reached the 30 day mark, she called my kids and asked them, "Does the number 30 mean anything to you???" She is so excited that DS warned her not to scream and cry with excitement too much on the plane or else they might, "land in a different airport and arrest you"!!
Last year, we stayed at the CR and LOVED it, but DH does not like to stay at the same place twice if there are other cool options, so while we were there last time, we visited both of our second choices: Poly and BC. Poly was amazing, but we fell in love with BC as soon as we walked through the doors. As soon as we could, we picked our dates and booked a deluxe room (we thought the extra space would be nice since Mom is coming, too).
Our itinerary is:
Wednesday, August 22nd: Early flight, arrive at BC around 1:00pm. Settle in, swim, maybe hit Epcot for an hour or two, early to bed!
Thursday, August 23rd: MK MEMH/LONG rest at hotel/Epcot for dinner and Illuminations
Friday, August 24th: HS/rest at hotel/MK for MSEP
Saturday, August 25th: Sleep in/AK/night out for me and DH!!! (World Showcase for shopping and drinks/late dinner at Flying Fish)
Sunday, August 26th: MK all day (with an afternoon rest at out hotel)/Wishes from the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessrt Party
Monday, August 27th: Epcot in the morning/Afternoon Tea at GF for Mom and me while DD does Wonderland Tea Party/Drive to Vero Beach
Tuesday, August 28th and Wednesday, August 29th: Disney's Vero Beach Resort
Needless to say, you can almost taste the excitement in our house as the 3-week mark approaches!!
