Six Flags Over Georgia

My DS8 earned a free ticket to Six Flags Over Georgia and has his heart set on using it. I believe he is tall enough for everything and he says he wants to ride all of the thrill rides. His only other experiences have been at WDW and he happily rides everything there. I have not been to Six Flags in probably 15+ years and I know they have added several coasters since then.

Does anyone have any park specific tips or suggestions? It will be just the 2 of us. We will arrive well before opening but it will probably have to be a Saturday or Sunday.

I'd definitely have him watch some of the on-ride videos of the major coasters before you go.

I'm sure you know WDW isn't a very good gauge when it comes to "real" coasters. The main drop on Expedition Everest is 80', where Goliath's big drop is 175' at 70 mph.

I'd definitely do some research and make a touring plan so he can ease into the bigger stuff after doing a few of the less intense rides.

I would try and wait until school is back in session, and go on a Sunday to avoid the crowds as much as possible.

Well, the kid outlasted me! We had 8 coasters on our to-do list and we made it through 6 of them. We were saving Goliath for last to make sure that he was willing to do it, but we ran out of time and I was developing a headache. We went on a Sunday and I had been at the doctor on Friday for a sinus infection. While we were on the rides, my teeth felt like they were shaking out of my head . We are both looking forward to another visit sometime.

Thanks again for the TPR recommendation, it did help me prioritize our plans.

I grew up going to that place every summer. You Disneyphiles think IASW is bad? Try being stuck on a broken down Monster Plantation just inside the entrance for 45+ minutes. And since the song follows each boat throughout the ride(different lines playing from different speakers,) we just heard the first couple of lines over and over...and over and over and over and over. I haven't been to that park since middle school and I can still sing that line perfectly.

I almost forgot about that ride. It's awful! I think my 4 year old would love it. I guess it's good we're planning on whitewater and not six flags!
