    Suggestions Needed for Breakfast Buffet

    Hi easywdw gurus,

3 of us, DM, DD 13, and myself are looking for breakfast suggestions for our September trip. We will be doing MNSHHP that night (Tue 9/18), and are wanting to have an easy morning, enjoying a buffet. We are on the DDP.

We did Akershus in Feb, and loved it, and are looking for something new to experience. We will be staying in the POFQ, relying on Disney transportation.

We are already doing 'Ohana for dinner.

    Thanks!
    DJ

One that I have not done but would like to try is Cape May (BC). The transport experts would have to advise you on the best way to get there. My first guess is bus to HS and then boat/walk over. The other one I would like to try is 1900 Park Fare (GF). Either way you're not using a park admission and can check out a nice resort. With Cape May you can check out the Boardwalk. We, too, have done Akershus. We just did Chef Mickey's and liked it.

I love Crystal Palace (Pooh and gang) for a late breakfast - 10-10:15. Check out the other post in this thread about late breakfast options. You get such a better experience - less crowded, better chacter interaction. Tusker House is also a good one (Mickey, Daisy, Goofy, Donald), but that puts you in AK and means you need a park hopper if you head back to MK later in the day. 1900 Park Fare at GF (Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh) was also good, but I didn't like it as much as Crystal Palace. I have heard good things about Cape May and Ohana breakfast too, but I have never done one of those. What type of foods are you looking for? I prefer Crystal Palace because it has the buffet, plus custom omletes and pancakes - something for everyone!

Thanks for all the quick replies. We do have park hoppers, so that gives us some options. CP looks really good to me too, I'll see if I can get a ressie at this late juncture. Was it the food or the ambiance of CP that you enjoyed over 1900PF? Or maybe both? As far as what we like to eat, we're pretty easy, no picky eaters, always up for something new.

I would say both food and ambiance. There seems to be more food choices at CP. I also thought CP was more friendly and upbeat. 1900 seemed more rushed and the characters were more standoffish (of course this can change by day).

We like Tusker House. Good food and fun characters.

We're doing Crystal Palace on the morning of our MNSSHP for our upcoming trip, but will leave the park shortly after breakfast for a long swim time until we head back to the MK in the late afternoon. In the past, we've done 'Ohana and Tusker House on party days. It works well for us to do a breakfast buffet, relax, and then do the party.

You may want to consider a non-penalty breakfast ADR (non-character?). Depending on how the remainder of your itinerary looks, you may end up just wanting to relax by the pool all day, before heading into MK at 4pm.
You mentioned having hoppers, but do you have a park ticket allocated for this day? You'll need to consider that if going to CP.

I would think that The Wave and Kona are easier to get to than other resorts, since they are on the monorail, and both get good reviews (although not buffet).

I have read awesome reviews on the Wave buffet -however - is the buffet still being offered ? Anyone know for sure ?

For non-character, I'd definitely recommend Boma's breakfast buffet.

We do have park tickets for that day, so getting into MK for CP is not a problem, other than there are no ressies at this time, but I'll keep checking back. The suggestion about late brunch/relaxing day/party is exactly what I was thinking. Thanks for all the great suggestions, I had never even considered CP before now, but now I'm intrigued! Hope I'm not denied....
