Thread: My review of Beach Club Club Level (compared to YC CL)

My review of Beach Club Club Level (compared to YC CL)

After 3 straight years at YC CL we were unable to get the garden view room at YC CL (there are only 5) so i had to try BC CL this time. It was nice but IMHO YC CL is superior. I didn't like the room assignments for BC CL GV. In all fairness maybe standard view or lagoon view are bettre but I believe there are 6 BC CL GV rooms and AT LEAST 4 of the 6 connect to another room. You can hear the noise thru the door and our neighbors were not loud per say but I could hear them discussing breakfast, plans, etc. Of the 6 rooms at least 1 is handicapped (we had it initially and switched) which is annoying b/c vanity was in bathroom and the shower is a handhdld thing with zero water pressure. So the BC CL GV is a real room of the dice on room layout. Howeve rALL have a full balcony - that is a plus. View was lovely. Overlooked volleyball court with nice side view of lagoon.

Lounge was eh. YC again larger, better layout, and not near the conjestion that the BC lounge had. Luckily we were pretty close to the lounge otherwise this floor is HUGE and how all this people fit into CL is anyone's guess. To me, the BC CL floor felt way more vast than YC CL floor. Food was eh as well - but that would hace been true at YC CL this trip as wel since they share the same kitchen so to speak. I loved the staff at BC CL and found them very nice besides one strange odd fellow but that is ok the rest made up for it. I really do enjoy that quick breakfast in the morning. HUGE perk to me....

Next summer I will stay at YC CL but wouldn't hesitate to stay at BC in a regular room, no club. I enjoyed the staff, lobby, location, etc. I just think the 5th floor is oddly laid out.

Thanks, I wasn't too wowed by the Bach Club Concierge on my one visit either.

Yeah, the company is the only reason why I didn't flip a table over and hustle out of there I do seriously appreciate the invite. And it's hard to go wrong with "free" bottled beer.

I'm staying Club Level there in less than 2 months.......
Now wondering whether I should downgrade to just a regular room.
Anyone know how decent/bad the view from a standard view club room is at the Beach Club? Is it just a parking lot view or somewhat better than that?

My logic was that we are definitely skipping a dining plan this time. And we are doing far less touring than in the past. Since we expect it to be pretty hot Labor Day weekend, we mostly wanted to spend a lot of time at Stormalong Bay. A couple evening in Epcot. Probably 1 evening in DHS for Fantasmic, and 1 morning at Magic Kingdom. Given we plan a lot of resort time, and we don't want to be tied to a dining plan, I thought the club level would give us a lot of flexibility.
Now wondering whether its worth the price (even at 40% off).

We stayed at BCV and had a "lovely" (detect sarcasm now) view of trees between BCV and EPCOT Resorts Blvd. When we stayed at regular BC our view, if I recall correctly, was of the road/bridge leading to the entrance to BC from the parking lot. Nothing too impressive, but having a great view doesn't matter to us.

It's only about a $5 difference per night to upgrade from Standard view to Garden view...... Typically, I won't pay extra for a view. (Typically not worth it to me-- I'd rather be in the cheapest room in the nicest hotel than pay extra just to have something pretty out the window). But for $5... Maybe I should consider it.

Havoc, that's my general take. I don't pay for a view but when we stayed at YC I did pay to upgrade from Standard to Garden view because I figured for the small difference in price it was worth not looking at a roof or parking lot. That being said, our view was mostly of a tree that was really close to the window blocking any light or view. What little wasn't blocked was of a patio for smoking. I wasn't impressed. Because there was no light on the balcony and the tree blocked any that might have come in, we couldn't use the balcony when it was dark and during the day it often smelled of smoke so we couldn't use it then either. I would have been just as well off if we got the standard view. I know I could have asked for a room switch but it was a decent location and I didn't want to end up at the far end of the building.

I'd still probably pay for garden view over standard, but if we stay again it'll likely be club level or even a deluxe room which is a totally different experience.

They're another category of club level room. They're not on the club floor and they're bigger than regular rooms. There are only a total 6 of these rooms total. Deluxe rooms are definitely more expensive than garden view CL rooms but they're cheaper than lagoon view or 1br CL rooms.

We just talking about a little extra square footage, or some massively different layout?

I believe that regular rooms at BC are around 380 square feet while the deluxe rooms are around 530 square feet.
