I can't answer for the iPhone specifically... but, the reason the mobile site shows up is because your phone is reporting what browser it is running, and the website recognizes it as a mobile browser and automatically adjusts. This is called the "User Agent" string.
On my Android there is a Settings called "Mobile View" that I can turn on and off. When I do this it will load either the mobile version of this site, or the full version. I would look to see if your iPhone has a similar setting.
Did you update to a new version in the last few days? Or change any other settings on your phone?

I didn't change any settings, and have never had a problem accessing the full site from my iPhone Safari browser in the past. If I click on "full site" on the mobile site it takes me to the full site, but as soon as I click on the next item I'm pointed back to the mobile site. Frustrating.
That happens to me on my Toshiba Thrive Android tablet too. I've tried a number of things and there doesn't seem to be a way around it, although it's NOT happening for me on my HTC Aria Android phone. The phone will stay "full site". Weird...Originally Posted by George

Glad there is a thread about this...I also like to view on my android phone but for some reason recently I can't view all the posts in a specfic thread only the first and last. Any suggestions to correct this?
I'm still here...just wishing I was there.

Mine still defaults back to the mobile site. If I click "full site," I do get the full site (I like to read posts by using the "What's New?" tab, which isn't present on the mobile site), but as soon as I click on anything else, it goes back to the mobile site.
Any further updates about how I can remedy this?

What iOS do you have? I am on 5.1.1 (9B206) and I don't have that issue. I can't see a Safari version number. Did you try clearing cookies in Safari?

I have the same version, and I just cleared cookies, but no dice. Still the mobile version.
Which "default style" did you choose for the boards?

This is how I read posts typically too and have been having the same problem but on my Kindle Fire. I find if I close it out and reload it goes back to the normal full site but that gets annoying every 5 min.Mine still defaults back to the mobile site. I don't think I chose one? So maybe whatever was default. I will have to look later and see if I can see what it is. Mine did go back to mobile once, I think after I cleared cookies/history, but when I chose full site again it stuck.

Found what you mean. The drop down in bottom left corner? Mine just says Default style.

I've just started having this trouble as well. The site looks very bare bones with "VBulletin" at the top where the "EasyWDW" button is usually found. Going from mobile to full site had no effect. I've just found this thread and sure enough I was set to default. Not sure when/how that happened. Anyway, reset to "new style" and it looks as it should. Hopefully problem solved.
Well...shoot! When I go to a new thread I default back, and the menu at the bottom reads "default". Help!
Do you have your browser set to "accept cookies"? Mmmmmm cookies sound really good right now.
For the record, my iPhone Safari browser still defaults to the mobile site.
If I use the Google Chrome browser on my iPhone, I can get the full site, no problem. It's just that it's a PITA to have to use Google Chrome just for this one site.

And it's funny, I've got some glitch with Chrome on my laptop where it doesn't save cookies. I've done every fix they recommend for the problem, but it always comes back. Too bad, because I do like it better than Firefox, but I'm too lazy to type in my user name and password on every site I visit every time!
That is really puzzling George... Full site still works fine for me in Safari.

Look at Safari in Settings. Is Accept Cookies set to 'from visited'? A lot of people with the 4S are saying theirs keeps getting switched to 'never' and they can't figure out why. I just have the 4, not 4S.

Yep. Cookies accepted. Funny thing is, last night when I logged out the page said that cookies had been cleared. Don't recall ever seeing that before. I'm running Chrome. Hopefully the glitch will just correct itself if I keep toggling the settings. Thanks for the input everyone. :)

I've always had this problem, and I don't know how to fix it. I have an iPhone 4S.
FWIW, you can see the "what's new?" button on the mobile site. At the top of the mobile site, if you click on the box with the three white dots in it, next to the magnifying glass, it takes you to a page of buttons, and the bottom button is the "what's new" button. It's still not as convenient as on the full site, though.
I also can't get my sig to show when I post from the mobile site.

I wish Josh could just turn off the Mobile Site altogether.
Well, tentatively saying that my problem is fixed. Seems to be working fine now. I toggled cookies on and off a few times as well as the default settings. Rebooted each time. May be none of these things have anything to do with the fix and it's just a glitch. I do think you all are spot on that it's an issue in the cookies settings.
For the record, I am now set to "default setting". That seems to be the proper one.
Don't know where I was, if mobile still shows the Easy button. As I said my page was showing VBulletin with no icons and no lists of members, no easy navigations and no who started threads, etc. Just a number next to each board. Glad to be back to full site!
