Thread: Thoughts on one day HS plan?

Thoughts on one day HS plan?

Here is my first attempt at my HS plan. 2 adults, 6yo boy and 8yo girl

    RD

    FP and Ride TSM
    RnRc for 8yo
    FPV ToT
    Star Tours? or in evening
    Muppet Vision

11am Jedi Training or after Jones in evening? How sign up?
    Lunch Where?
1:20 FP LMA – when get FP38 minutes get fp earlier
    Get fp before leave?
    Break 2-5?
    5:30 Indiana Jones
    Star Tours
    9pm fantasmic

How is VoLM? Would a 6yo boy and 8yo girl like it? Does this plan lend to a laid back day or is it rushed?
Thank you all so much for your help.

Jedi Training - you'll need to sign up right after rope drop for this, and your son needs to be there. Standard practice is to split up - one parent and your daughter head to TSM and get FP, other parent and son to sign up for Jedi Training and then rush to meet up at TSM where you can hopefully still ride standby without too much of a wait.

I think a 6yr old boy would appreciate Beauty and the Beast way more than VotLM. My really manly DH truly enjoys Beauty and the Beast (don't tell his old Navy Seal buddies!)

When will you use your FPs for TSM?

Will the FP window be open for ToT after you are done with RnRC? Also, when will you use your FPs for ToT?

Okay. Looks like I have a lot to change. This one is confusing me with all of the shows. I'm not sure about the return times for the FP's. Is there anything we should just ride standby?

    RT for TSM FP 10:15ish?
    ToT RT 12ish?
Hmm. WDW website says there is a FP for LMA.
How do the FP for the shows work?
I'm feeling overwhelmed with this plan.

Is everyone riding ToT? If not, you could try this:
    RD
One adult and kids who want to participate go sign up for Jedi (request 11 show)
    Other adult go FP TSMM
Thrillers ride RNRC and ToT while others see VOTLM
Meet back up and ride TSMM with FP
FPV TSM for ride when you get back tonight
Report to Jedi at 10:50 for 11:00 show
    11-11:20 JTA
    11:30 Indiana Jones
    Muppets
    Lunch
    1:20 LMA
    Break 2-5
    Return
    FPV ST
    OMD
    5:45 Beauty and Beast
    TSM with FP
    ST with FP
    HISTK Playground or Animation Academy
8 -- line up for Fantasmic and send a runner to bring back CS dinner to eat while sitting in line
    9 Fantasmic

There used to be FP for LMA-they got rid of it at least 3 yrs ago.

Scott's plan is good other than this
    11-11:20 JTA
    11:30 Indiana Jones
You'll really need to be lined up for Indy no later than 11:15

So you may have to choose between LMA at 1:20, or Indy at 12:45
Usually very difficult to fit all 3 shows plus Jedi and a break!

Which 2 shows are priority- could boys go to Indy, girls go to BaTB? Those 2 run on same schedule

    What is HISTK and CS?

    How does this look:

    RD
One adult and kids who want to participate go sign up for Jedi (request 11 show)
    Other adult go FP TSMM
Meet at ToT - all ride
    DD and adult ride RNRC
    DS and adult ride _________
Meet back up and ride TSMM with FP
FPV TSM for ride when you get back tonight
Report to Jedi at 10:50 for 11:00 show
    11-11:20 JTA
11:30 Indiana Jones - can we just show up for this and get a good seat?
    FP for LMA if possible?
    Muppets
    Lunch
    1:20 LMA (takes 38 minutes)
    Break 2-5
    Return
    FPV ST
    TSM with FP
    ST with FP
    HISTK Playground or Animation Academy
8 -- line up for Fantasmic and send a runner to bring back CS dinner to eat while sitting in line
    9 Fantasmic

    HISTK is the playground
    CS is Counter Service
There is no FP for LMA ;)

Jedi runs 20 min- if you want to enjoy the experience- take some pics afterwards, etc- then forget about Indy at 11:30. No you can't always just show up and get a seat! it is often standing room only by 11:10.

You are trying to fit 10 pounds of sand into a 5 pound bag. DHS is a difficult park to plan with all the show times to work around. You need to pick what is most important- plan those then whatever else you get to is gravy.

I'll use your original list which does not have BaTB-

RD- be at gates no later than 8:15
    FPV to TSM
Others to Jedi sign up- request 11 show
All meet at TSM and ride standby- done by 9:30?
    All ride ToT
10ish FPV RnRC for boys- want RT after 11:30
    10:15ish TSM w/FP
    Report for Jedi
FPV ST- want RT after 12:30
    11 Jedi
11:30 RnRC w/FP for boys- girls can probably squeeze in to 11:30 BaTB here or just get lunch started- CS along Sunset.
    12ish Lunch
    12:30ish ST w/FP
1:20 LMA- arrive by 1 is fine
    Break 2-5

Return by 5- FPV whatever is avail if you want- but time is tight this pm!
5:30 Indy (or 5:45 BaTB for girls)
    6:ish Muppets
6:30 Animation, HISTK, VoTLM if you want- allow 30 min for each!
Use FP if you got one
7:30 get CS dinner and line up for F no later than 8

Have to ask- is Fantasmic really a must? I'd drop that and just do all the things you want at DHS - leave when done- 5ish or whatever.
Your trip will not be ruined if you miss one 25 min show!
(F means a very short break, a hectic tour thru the day, a long wait in F line up and a big fat hassle exiting park afterwards)

    This is so true.

We love Fantasmic, but it's not a "must do" for us unless I can fit it comfortably into our plan. If it means us both dragging through a hot afternoon and evening at HS, or creating a late night then an early morning the next day, we'll skip it. No 25 minute show is worth dealing with a tired and whiny family.

Thanks. My kids aren't into BaTB or VoTLM. They want thrill rides and action shows. My son is just 44" so he can't ride RnRC.
We leave WDW the day after we go to HS. The day before is a day off/swim day. I would like to do Fantasmic if we are up for it and I am willing to drop it if it is just too much.
I actually thought we didn't have much to do in the evening. When we return from our break we will just be doing Indy and the muppets. Animation, HISTK and VoTLM would just be fillers for us and we probably want to skip them. It sounds like we would just be coming back for Indy, muppets and Fantasmic.

Since you'll have the next day as a travel day, I think Fantasmic is a great ending to the trip.

Ooops sorry! Should have said RnRC for DD8?

    Are both adults riding RnRC?

Then you could get FP for RnRC for adult/DD and FP for ST for adult/DS at same time-

10ish FPV RnRC- 2, FPV ST- 2- want RT 11:30 for both sets
    10:15ish TSM w/FP
    Report for Jedi
FPV ST for all- want RT after 12:30
    11 Jedi
    11:30 RnRC w/FP for adult/DD, ST w/FP for adult /DS
    12ish Meet for lunch

I saw that you registered for the 11 am Jedi academy at rope drop. What if I would like to register for the 8:00p.m. Jedi academy at rope drop. Is that possible?
    Thanks

Should be- however you may have to step aside and wait til they fill all previous shows then they'll slot you in for 8 PM.

Thanks...I am going to try. It just looks like with all the FP changes, we may need to reserve some things for the evenings. I still would like to take a break and return without being a slave to FP RTs.
