We are booked for Thanksgiving week. We went last year the week after Thanksgiving and I am concerned about the crowds. I know it is a major holiday week but can you tour each day if you take Josh's suggestions on LCP and go at park opening and leave for afternoon breaks? We have never been during a major holiday so I am not sure what to expect. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!
We went Thanksgiving weeks 2006 and 2007 and used another site's best days and had a blast both times. We went at park opening and didn't always take afternoon breaks but could have. The weather was nice, and my kids were older, so we went with "see everything". Expect crowds and go to Rope Drop, and you should be fine. It seemed like crowds built each day up to Thanksgiving and weren't as bad at the beginning of the week.
Thanks, that makes me feel better. We are definitely doing RD each day that week and followed the park charts as well. We will be there the entire week before Thanksgiving so we will have some slow time also.
We have been many times Thanksgiving week. It has gotten busier over the years, but is very manageable if you follow Josh's suggestions. We like to go this time of year because the Christmas decorations are up already.

We went on our first family trip over Thanksgiving week in 2006. Got busier as the holiday approached. We had no problem due to following best days and touring plans from that other site. The day after Thanksgiving, we were able to walk on to every attraction in Tomorrowland. The only super crowded event was Wishes.

We love going at Thanksgiving. The last 3 years we have had thanksgiving dinner at the Captain's Grill. Rope drops are a must. We love all the Christmas decorations and parades. Also we love the Candlelight Procession at Epcot, osbourne lights at DHS, and just the festive feel of all the resorts and parks. The crowds are busy but follow Josh's advice and you will be fine. The parks on the Monday &Tuesday after Thanksgiving are practically empty. I also recommend doing the dining package with the candlelight procession because not only do you get early entry to seating you also get special viewing for illumination. Hope you have a great week.
