    Undercover Tourist - Delivery Question

I ordered our tickets last week, got an e-mail stating they were sent on Friday, and a USPS signature confirmation note yesterday. Is this how they usually send tickets? I forgot to stick the note back in the mailbox this morning (with instructions to just leave it), but I have this sense of dread rather than excitement. I'm not expecting anything else.

Ours required a signature last year, too. Why the dread??
Hoping for a new countdown ticker sometime soon....

Oh, I need to call my mom. She hasn't returned my call from Mother's Day. About 15 years ago when my first marriage ended, she wrote me a 10 page letter detailing every little thing I've done to ruin her life, starting from having colic as an infant. She sent it signature confirmation. She's been a lot better in recent years, but we still have a somewhat strained relationship. I hardly ever get any deliveries that require signatures, but I still have this fear of receiving another such letter.

I did not have to sign for mine. Mine just showed up in my mailbox in a plain envelope.

Try not to worry, I'm sure it isn't another mom letter...

So, if she doesn't answer the phone cursing, I should be ok? It doesn't help that I have a phone phobia either, eh? That's really about about half my phobias in one ... signature confirmation, making phone calls, snakes, and non-enclosed heights.

Eh, I have a fear of mannequins and other "real looking" fake people type things. At least yours makes sense...

I got answer machine on her land line and voice mail on her cell. If she doesn't call me back, I'll call my sister tonight to check if she's still alive. My sister hasn't ruined her life as far as I'm aware.

Usually the postal notice will have at least the name of the company or person sending the letter, check and see if there's anything listed.

Mine UCT tickets came regular mail, no signature required.

There wasn't a name, but there was an article number. I didn't think to look it up until you mentioned to look at the notice again. No name, but it was shipped out of Daytona Beach and went through Orlando, so yeah, UCT.

I called my sister, my mom's over there. She isn't mad at me, just forgot about me. No big, just me making up stuff to stress myself out about. Must remember to put the notice in the mailbox tonight.

On the plus side, you now have two happy things to think about; DW tickets, and no crazy mom letter!

Wow......okay......I will not feel so badly when I hear my mom has told yet another person how I am a total disappointment to her. At least she doesn't say that I've ruined her life.

Glad to hear that you now know that you are getting your UCT tickets and that your mom isn't mad at you!!!

JulieC- Sorry your mom is like that-I swear some people weren't ment to have kids and some times moms are so stressed they have no idea what they are saying. My mom told me she wished she never had more than 3 children(she had 6 at the time) and I always wonder which 3 she wanted. I am sure she did not mean it that way, but my mom was stressed- she left us too for a few days...needed to regroup. I don't think your mom will ever send a note like that again- she got it out. Enjoy your trip, WDW is a signature free mail zone so you should be ok for a while!!!

I'm really sorry to hear about how your mom treats you. It's absolutely disgusting. You should get on with your life and enjoy everything you can, especially your trip to Disney. Forget her and be happy. She doesn't matter.

Thanks for the support everyone! Like I said, she's calmed down in recent years, but aye, I can forgive but I can't forget.

To make it 3 for 4, I saw a snake just outside my garage this morning. DH assures me it was probably a harmless garter snake. It went one way, I went the other, my pulse stopped racing about an hour later. I think I can manage to stay on the ground for the next few days.

Finally got my tickets. Though I returned the "deliver anyway" slip a week ago, nothing happened. I had to go through my Firefox history to get the tracking number, no further status on the tracking, I called last night, the package was still at the post office it was sent to, so this morning I drove 20 minutes the wrong way to pick it up. Anyway, it is done, I have tickets in hand. I wrote all my confirmation numbers in the blank space on the paper they are attached to and made a few copies of it, as instructed. Now if I can manage to not leave them in Ohio, we're good.
