    Planning a Universal Orlando Trip

I'm in the early stages of planning a Universal Orlando trip for 2013. I'd like to make a budget spreadsheet to start with. Are there any good planning sites like a mousesavers for Universal? I'd really like to see a rack room rate sheet for onsite hotels.

I looked around, crunched some numbers, talked it over with the husband, and have decided to go to Universal Orlando for October 2013. I quit smoking in February. I'm a serial quitter, but this is my final quit. I opened a separate savings account and am depositing the money I would have spent on cigarettes in it and by October 2013 I will have $3k in that account. So I decided to pay for no kids trip. The plan is to stay on site. Go to Haunted Horror Nights. Play mini golf. We also plan to visit DTD. It's going to be weird going to Orlando and not doing Disney.

We are going for the first time this summer, staying on-site, visiting each park for a full day. Orlando Informer has been a big help with my planning, I think the susbcription is about $20, but I'm pretty sure that the subscriptions are for 6 months. so if joined now you would have to rejoin. We bought our tickets from Under Cover Tourist and booked our room only through Universal direct. We are staying at Royal Pacific for two nights in a standard room for about $260 per night.

2013 is not 100% out but this is 2012 which will give you an idea. Most Universal discounts a packaged with tix designed to get you to stay longer.

First congrats on quitting smoking. Keep up the good work. My hairdresser quite 18 months ago. Doctor's orders; she was having some fairly major surgery. She figures she saves at least $15 a day by not smoking. It wasn't just the cigarettes. She would have at least 2 Starbucks drinks a day. Now that her taste buds have returned to normal, she can't stand the taste of Starbucks coffee. So she makes her Folgers in the morning at home, and it keeps her happy. We're going to Orlando this October and we're just going to do Sea World and Universal.
