Help choose between 2 schedule options - Sat Nov 9

Hi - looking for opinions on this. We arrive Friday evening and our first day at the parks will be Sat Nov 10. Staying for a week with extended family. 12 of us in all, 7 are kids, half the group is first time to WDW. Even though this is a slower time of year this particular Saturday is fairly busy. Last weekend of F&W. The day before was a MVMCP. MK is predicted as very busy by Josh and TP and has evening EMH. We are staying at BLT. Normally we like to start at MK-like most- but we're willing to give that up for better touring. AK is recommended but Josh says even that will be busy in the morning with the remnants of the marathon. Considering we're at BLT should we hit RD at MK, stay til it gets busy then hop to AK? The downside to that is AK closing at 5pm. Probably only looking at having 4-5 hours there after transit and lunch. Or do we just do AK because the crowd from the race won't have a significant impact on waiting times? Or is hopping to HS a better choice even though it is not the recommended park? We will have plenty of MK time the rest of the trip. Just want to start the trip off on the right food. Dinner could be Tusker House or 1900 PF (DDP) depending on which way we go.

    Thoughts?

I would base my decision on most recommended park despite location.

I too would do BEST recommended park or 2nd. You could always watch wishes that eve from the Contemporary Viewing area for a little MK mix.

If you have the park hopping option you can hit AK early and finish with MK w/the EMH. If you are from a different time zone that may effect little and older ones so do keep that in mind.

Hello, I will be there over the same weekend and I can say for us we will probably end up going straight to AK on Saturday. I was a little confused at first because your post says Saturday is the 9th when actually it is the 10th. Anyhow, You do have some other options as far as your arrival on the 9th, it is the first MVMCP if you would like to do MK late and plan on attending a party. As far as Saturday I am planning AK because I feel EP and MK are just going to be crazy. We will probably move over to another park just for a night time show or perhaps the Osbourne Lights. HS would be an option if you have EMH eligibility. Best of luck whatever you decide!!!

Yes, I should have written Sat Nov 10. We won't be there in time to do anything on Friday the 9th. Thanks.
