    Grilling at DVC

For our upcoming trip (4/18-4/27) we're thinking of using the outdoor grills at the BLT and BCV for the first time and wanted to hear from others who have already grilled. I know we have to provide our own charcoal and DVC will lend us grilling utensils but I was wondering how many people have grilled and whether or not they thought it was worth it. We plan on keeping it simple, hot dogs and hamburgers, chicken and maybe steak tips. Of course any suggestions for other dinners to grill will also be appreciated.

We have a resident DVC grilling expert - it's Michael, isn't it? Someone did a post of all the grill locations and other information - hopefully he will see this!

It's an amusement park, for goodness sake, how much planning could you need?

    Wahoo! Finally a trip planned!

Thanks, that helps a lot! It looks like grilling is pretty easy, especially since we're staying at BLT and BCV and will be able to walk to the grills. Just one more reason to look forward to our tip, as if we needed one.

    Hello Londy
We are here now at BLT. On Friday we used the grill and ate in our room. I had ordered our Steaks though Garden Grocer. Paid about $10.00 per. They were a choice cut, New Yorks and were really good. We had brought our seasonings
from home. The process was really easy. The only thing I would recommend is to bring a clean plate down with you and some foil. I brought down a beer to keep me company while I was grilling.

    Hope ths helps

It's easy to forgot something when you go to the grills.

For the charcoal grills (like at Orlando DVCs) I bring the following down to the grills with me:

    1) The bag of charcoal

and a box (we shop at Costco or Sams, so we usually have one) containing:

    2) A platter to put the finished steaks on.
    3) A few paper towels to clean up with.
    4) The package of steaks (we like USDA Prime from Costco!)
    5) Lighter fluid
    6) Lighter
    7) Seasoning
    8) Tongs or a pancake turner

The box makes it easier for one person to carry everything. :)
