Transportion from HS to DD....which resort to connect?

My family (me, DH, DD4, DS2) are making our second trip to WDW in early March. We are staying at POFQ again.

All the ADRs are made and we will have an early dinner (4:30) at DD after a day at HS. My question...

Which resort would provide the easiest/quickest/most reliable connection from HS to DD? We've talked about taking the bus back to POFQ and then taking the boat (or bus) to DD from there but is that the quickest option or is there another one that would be quicker?

SS looks like it might be quicker but I'm concerned about the long walk between the bus and the boat.

    Toughts?

Likewise, we'll be making the AK to DD trip for an early ADR as well. Any thoughts on the resort to use between AK and DD?

Pop is close to HS and buses run very consistantly...even the one for DTD. The only time I waited more than 10 minutes for a bus was to DTD.....but from the Contemporary resort (after CM)!

I would take a cab for this trip. A few dollars well-spent.

I would be inclined to walk/boat to Swan/Dolphin and get the DTD bus from there.

It's an amusement park, for goodness sake, how much planning could you need?

    Wahoo! Finally a trip planned!

I thought about that, but the DTD buses have spotty reputations in terms of frequency.

I'll be honest; after a full day at DHS or AK (or any park really) I wouldn't be sitting down for a TS meal anywhere with a 4yo and 2yo so this really would be a moot question. That's a LONG day and kids at that age have enough trouble sitting still in TS restaurants when they're not exhausted; add a full park day in and you're setting yourselves up for a meltdown. Lunch TS followed by quick CS at your resort really is something to consider if you want to stay at the park all days.

Now that I have that off my chest, I like Brian's advice; take a cab.

We generally prefer breakfast(character meals) or dinner for our TS so we aren't spending as much park time eating. We actually had a lot of success with early evening TS reservations last year (with a 3 yr old and a 20 mos old no less) with no meltdowns and generally pleasant meals (Ohana, Marakesh, etc). I think the key for us was lots of time in the double stroller including nap time and limited walking. Plus HS, we've found, is not an all day park for us right now. We are eating at Raglan Road so should be a low key TS meal too. Thanks for your input and the cab suggestion.

You don't have to take the boat...you can take a DTD bus from whatever stop you get off at. Or, just walk from the stop closest to DTD. That said.....I'd personally spring for the cab.....it would be $20 well spent not to have to worry about dragging kids from one form of transportation to the next.

How do taxis work from AK and DHS? Can you pick one up right outside of the parks?

Yes. I can't remember exactly where you will find them parked but I do know they are in the parking lots and very visible.
