Don't know about birthday calls at the resort but if you leave a wake-up call on the room phone, you may get a character greeting - we have not always had a character wake up call, but most people say they do. At many locations, a CM may see that you or your child has a Birthday button on and arrange a special call from their counter/desk phone for you.
