I love FB, it gives me the opportunity to keep up with old friends without actually taking the time and energy needed to do it properly.
But Brenda, that is sooooooo creepy!
Has this alter ego tried to friend any of your sister-in-law's friends?
ChristineOH, I worked in the same office as a lady that did something like that in real life. She used another lady's home address and name (Sheila), pretended she was married to the real Sheila's husband, talked about "her" dogs and "her" neighbors. We all thought "Sheila" was a little strange, and she would never have anything mailed to her home, she would pick up all her work related correspondence from human resources. One of the other gals in the office was getting married and sent a wedding invitation to "Sheila's house" and received the RSVP card back with a written note saying that she must have received this invite by mistake as the card was addressed to her but she did not know either party.
Well, that really raised some questions around the office, so one of the other nosy gals who worked in a different area followed "Sheila" home from work one day and she pulled up in front of a dilapidated old mobile home in a seedy mobile home park. Turns out she lived with her mother, had never been married, never left home. I guess getting a new job gave her the opportunity to take on the persona of someone who had the life she wished for.
Since she wasn't really doing any harm, and she really was a sweet (if strange) person, we never let on that we knew her secret. I left the job 2 years later, and "Sheila" was still happily working there, talking about her husband, home, and dogs.
