    A hidden Mickey
Last trip to Disney my DH did not pack sensible shoes (don't ask!) So he ended up having to buy a pair of mickey crocs to tour in (please do not ban me Josh!!!) Well, after that trip they became is yard shoes because he will not wear them out places. Today I looked at his foot and he has been out in the sun and there are tanned Mickeys on his feet! I have not laughed so hard in a long time!

I'm not sure....and it is their 25th anniversary pic not wedding pic.....but it is the one that she has set as her profile picture so I don't know if this random person copied it from there???

But Brenda, that is sooooooo creepy!

Has this alter ego tried to friend any of your sister-in-law's friends?

ChristineOH, I worked in the same office as a lady that did something like that in real life. She used another lady's home address and name (Sheila), pretended she was married to the real Sheila's husband, talked about "her" dogs and "her" neighbors. We all thought "Sheila" was a little strange, and she would never have anything mailed to her home, she would pick up all her work related correspondence from human resources. One of the other gals in the office was getting married and sent a wedding invitation to "Sheila's house" and received the RSVP card back with a written note saying that she must have received this invite by mistake as the card was addressed to her but she did not know either party.

Well, that really raised some questions around the office, so one of the other nosy gals who worked in a different area followed "Sheila" home from work one day and she pulled up in front of a dilapidated old mobile home in a seedy mobile home park. Turns out she lived with her mother, had never been married, never left home. I guess getting a new job gave her the opportunity to take on the persona of someone who had the life she wished for.

Since she wasn't really doing any harm, and she really was a sweet (if strange) person, we never let on that we knew her secret. I left the job 2 years later, and "Sheila" was still happily working there, talking about her husband, home, and dogs.
No one has been contacted to friend her that I know of.....but it is possible. And wow....what a crazy story. I just can't imagine the work one would have to go through to maintain that kind of a lie.

This is exactly what I was thinking today. I mean, my life isn't perfect and sure....there were times growing up that I wished that I had a different life....but those are only fleeting moments. I would never in a million years have considered taking on a whole new person's persona. What is so weird is that just because you say your life is a certain way doesn't suddenly make it that way. Take Pam's person for example.....she didn't magical get the family, house, etc just because she took on the name and said that everything was that way. I just don't understand it at all.

Woohoo! DH just accepted a new job offer. It will be a big change for us. He has always worked out of the house but will now be in an office. We need a new car now because he will lose his company car. Even better is it will be my car. I've been driving the same car since 1996 and he has gotten new company cars every few years. I told DH that he can have Betsy(my old car) since it will just be sitting in a parking lot.

Today was my last day at my job. I start a bigger and better one on Monday. It was tough to leave , but the right thing for me. I'll retain the friends I made there anyway .
I actually have some work to do this weekend for my old job, somehow that doesn't seem right

Oh sweet AC. How I love you. Power was off for 30 hours from Fri. night til this AM. I think it got to be about 95 degrees in our bedroom yesterday afternoon. DH and I had a wedding to go to. I got dressed in the basement and did my makeup in the car. The wedding was worth it, not only for a decent meal and the AC. I hit a new DC landmark for me, top of the Hay Adams hotel, overlooking the White House. For the ceremony the balcony door was open so you could see the White House just behind the couple. Very nice, very grown-up.

Thanks. I usually take horrible photos. It's pretty hard to mess up when you're that close! I took another shot up 16th St to where I had gotten married, another one looking down on St. John's Church where the Pres. sometimes worships and where went on inauguration morning, and Blair House the Pres.'s guest house. My friend and I were trying to figure out where they put Mrs. Obama's vegetable garden and the play area for the girls. My friend said the WH takes up 80 acres but it doesn't look like it.

The power companies are saying it could be a week for everyone to get their power back. We just went through this with the hurricane last Aug. So glad I live a mile from a substation and have underground wires.

Wow Becca, what a beautiful picture and sounds like a gorgeous location for a wedding!

I can't imagine dealing with the heat and humidity without power. I really feel for everyone that's having to do that right now.

Geat pic Becca. My DD has almost the same view from her rooftop terrace- she's just a few blocks towards Georgetown from Hay-Adams so she's got more of a side view of WH

Funny Christine-- I read the first line of your post, and stopped, went on to something else. Then, I came back and read the rest.

And yes, I had been whistling the whole time. And thinking of Opie.
